Long-term outcomes of non-surgical periodontal therapyTheaimsofperiodontaltherapyaretomaintainahealthyperiodontiumandfunctionaldentition,andtopreventrecurrenceofperiodontaldisease.Insomecasesthismaynotbepossible,andourtreatmentobjectivesmaybelimitedtohaltingorslowingdiseaseprogression.Theprognosisforsuccessfultreatmentwillbedependentonwhatthecliniciancanpredictablyachieveormaintain.Thistalkwilllookatthelong-termoutcomesofnon-surgicalperiodontaltreatment,periodontalmaintenance,andthelong-termmanagementofperi-implantitis.
