Vision Statement

We envision a professionally run, responsive, proactive, and creative organization through which the Metrobank Group of Companies is able to express its commitment to lead the private sector in fostering holistic human development in both the national and international arena, thereby affecting an empowered society whose members are able to realize their human potential.

Mission Statement

To realize its vision, the Foundation shall propagate a culture of excellence with human face by actively implementing, assisting, and supporting programs which strengthen and advance the strategic sectors of society as well as respond to the needs of the disadvantaged.

About the Metrobank Foundation, Inc.

Established on January 8, 1979 by George S. K. Ty, sixteen (16) years after he founded the Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company, the Metrobank Foundation is engaged in social development projects in the Philippines and other parts of Asia. As the corporate and social responsibility arm of the Metrobank Group, the Foundation implements various programs in education, visual arts and healthcare. It also maintains an active and dynamic partnership with other organizations that likewise provide services for the disadvantaged. Among the Foundation’s flagship programs are the Search for Outstanding Teachers, the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) art competitions, the Metrobank Math Challenge, College Scholarship Programs and recognition programs for members of the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The Foundation is also the major owner of the Manila Doctors Hospital (MDH), one of the leading centers of wellness in the country. It actively supports the Hospital’s operations and provides funds for a wide array of social services, including subsidies for in-house charity patients, outreach programs and health-related interventions in adopted communities, as well as research. Since 2005, MDH has achieved the distinction of being the first hospital in Manila to be ISO 9001: 2000 certified.

The Foundation also operates the Manila Doctors College (MDC), the Hospital’s education affiliate. The MDC’s College of Nursing enjoys a Level II Accreditation from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) as well as a Deregulated Status from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). In 2004, the College established a new campus at the Metropolitan Park along Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City to accommodate the growing number of students.

After 31 years of involvement in development work, the Foundation affirms its commitment to remain a leader in corporate social responsibility by initiating and supporting leading edge programs that have the potential to uplift the lives of our people and inspire the best in the Filipinos.
