As you all know Karimnagar is the third largest and fastest growing town of Telangana state and a big medical hub with 2 medical colleges, many corporate giants and hundred plus private Nursing Homes. Popularly known as the ‘City of Granites’, and located on the banks of river Manair, the city is world famous for ‘Silver Filigree’ works (a very delicate form of silver metal threads and lead work).
There are many historical places and temples in and around Karimnagar – Manairdam, Raja Rajeswari Temple of Vemulawada, Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Temple of Dharmapuri, Elagandula Fort, Gudemgutta Satyanarayana Swami Temple and Kaleswaram Project to name a few.

TS APICON 2019 COMMITTEE MEMBERS
VEMULAWADA
The place, Vemulawada, is quite popular for the RajaRajeshwara Swamy temple. Built by Chalukya Kings between 750 AD and 973 AD, the temple complex houses several temples dedicated to deities like Lord Sri Rama, Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganapathy, and Lord Padmanabha Swamy.
Karimnagar epitomises the spirit of secularism in its true colours. The Word Karimnagar takes after the name of the erstwhile Quilardaar, Syed Karimuddin. It is a centre for Vedic learning, Hindu gods, Jain temples and Vestiges of Gautama Buddha.
The picturesque locations, temples, dense forests, in the confluence of river Godavari and Pranahita, the forts, the wildlife sanctuaries, bring a distinct colour to the beauty of Karimnagar.
Karimnagar is presently divided into Jagtial, Siricilla and Peddapally!
History mingles with spirituality
KONDAGATTU
One amongst the most popular temples in Karimnagar is Kondagattu, Anjaneya Swamy Temple. It is located amidst a scenic beauty with valleys, rivers and waterfalls surrounding it.
LOWER MANAIR DAM
The dam, which is built on River Manair, a tributary of Godavari, is the lifeline of Karimnagar. During the monsoon season, the water in the river rises to great heights due to copious inflows. Boating here is an awesome experience.
RAJEEV DEER PARK
On the outskirts of Karimnagar, close to Manair Dam, nestles this awesome Rajeev Deer Park in a sprawling 30-acre lush greenery. Since it is a wildlife park, mostly deer and other flora and fauna are preserved. The park is a fine example of conservation of nature and is a must-visit for all nature lovers.
DHARMAPURI
The temple town of Dharmapuri came into existence during the 10th century on the banks of River Godavari. Renowned shrines in the town include: the 13th century Sri Laksmi Narasimha Swamy temple, Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple and Sri Ramalingeshwara Swamy temple.
SILVER FILIGREE
This is an interesting form of craft practised on Silverware in Karimnagar. It is very delicate and intricate carving on silver sheets. The craft has lot of admirers and is famous the world over. The popular Silver Filigree items include: Traditional pandans, jewellery boxes, vases and replicas of Charminar. Motifs of birds and flowers are hugely used in these carvings.
KOTI LINGALA
Koti Lingala was the first capital of the Satavahana dynasty. The traditional Sri Koteswara Siddeshwara Swamy Devasthanam temple with a picturesque background.
GUDEM GUTTA
Gudem gutta Sathyanarayana Swamy temple is a very popular temple near Karimnagar. Also known as second Annavaram, the place is famous for Satyanarayana Vrathams performed every day, especially on pournami day This temple is also a good picturesque delight.
FLAG
At a height of 150 feet, States second tallest national flag was hoisted in smart city of Karimnagar on December 31st ,2018.It was installed in the heart of the city in the multipurpose school ground to inculcate patriotism among the people.
