Martha and Mary are the focus of this weekend’s Gospel, which abounds with

rich themes about hospitality, service, and finding the right balance

between action and prayerful attention to the Lord. Christians who

are good stewards of their faith life realize that if they are too busy to

balance in their spirituality. If we make time for Mass, but then carry

on with our busy schedules without prayer, meditation and reflection,

we are missing out. If we find ourselves anxious and harried by life’s

routines, could it be a sign that something in our spiritual life needs

some serious attention?

XVI Domingo Ordinario ~ 17 de Julio de 2016 ~ 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time

Our Mission Statement

The mission of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish is to develop an atmosphere for the members

of our Faith Community to live out the four-fold goals of the Catholic Church:

Worship, Word, Service, & Community.

Legion of Mary

Meetings are Saturdays 10 -11am in the conference room.

All welcomed. The Legion of Mary is a lay

Apostolic association of Catholics who, with the sanction of

the Church and under the powerful leadership of

Mary Immaculate, serve the Church and their

neighbor on a voluntary basis.

Prayer for Priests

O Jesus, our great High

Priest, Hear my

humble prayers on

behalf of your priest,

Father [N]. Give him a

deep faith, a bright and

firm hope and a

burning love

which will ever

increase in the course of

his priestly life. In his

loneliness, comfort him

in his sorrows,

strengthen him in his

frustrations, point out to

him that it is through

suffering that the soul is

purified, and show him

that he is needed by the

Church, he is needed by

souls, he is needed for

the work of

redemption. O loving

Mother Mary, Mother

of Priests, take to your

heart your son who is

close to you because of

his priestly ordination,

and because of the

power which he has

received to carry on the

work of Christ in a

world which needs him

so much. Be his

comfort, be his joy, be

his strength, and

especially help him to

live and to defend the

ideals of consecrated

celibacy. Amen.
