Dear Parishioners and friends of St. Stanislaus School,

Praised be Jesus Christ! As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiv-ing and the Advent and Christmas Seasons, our thoughts turn to what is most important in our lives, thanking God for all His gifts and blessings to us, and for the gift that family has been and continues to be, even though family life does have its ups and downs! We are celebrating a Year of Faith, and the Church is inviting us to be part of the New Evangelization. For one hundred and fifteen years, look how our school has been faithful to evange-lization! As our School Year Theme states: “Trust: For I know The Plans That I have For You...” God always wants what is best for us, and when we are humble enough to trust Him, we grow as His disciples, stewards, and evangelizers. Thanksgiving, Advent, and the Christmas Seasons are great reminders for us to trust God, because with the upcoming holydays and holidays, we see how God has cared and continues to care for His people. Recall the story of the first Thanksgiving; of how the first pilgrims, along with the Native Americans, celebrated God’s bounty in America. Advent, a spiritual time to reflect on not just the birthday of Jesus, but to take a look at our lives to see as if we are living as if we are made for heaven. What our parish school has strived to do these past one hundred and fifteen years is to continue to teach the way that Jesus taught; striving to instill Gospel values and Gospel living so that our chil-dren can have a solid foundation in life, realizing that they belong to God and that God has a plan for each of them if their hearts, minds, and souls are open to Him. It is with humble gratitude and thanksgiving that we thank you, the parishioners and friends of our school, because without your support – financial and spiritual - we could not be faithful to our mission. As we celebrate Thanksgiv-ing, Advent, and Christmas, know that you are in our daily prayers. May Christ continue to bless all of you with His peace, joy, and love, so that together, as God’s family, our faith will continue to grow and our lives will bear witness to the Gospel!

Peace and all good,Fr. Michael

Letter from Fr. Michael

The St. Stanislaus School held its 17th annual Golf Outing on Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Wyckoff Country Club. We had 96 golfers, plus a number of people who joined us for dinner that evening. We would sincerely like to thank all the sponsors, supporters, golfers, donors, diners, and volunteers who helped make this event such a success.

The success of this year’s event – along with many others in the past – was directly a result of the hard work of Brian McClaflin. Brian has co-chaired this event for many years, but 2012 marked the last year he will serve in a leadership role. He has been instrumental in growing this event – we have increased the number of golfers by 50%, and we have doubled the money we give to the School. All of us truly thank Brian for all the time, effort and expertise he has shared with us.

Mark your calendars now for the 2013 outing… scheduled for Sunday, June 2. There are many ways you can support this fun event, so plan to join us next year. Thank you again for all the generosity shown for this event.

We would sincerely like to thank the following Sponsors, Supporters, golfers and donors.

Thank you,

Did you or your child attend St. Stanislaus School?

St. Stanislaus School is a non-profit organization. Our future de-pends on donations from individuals like yourselves. Here are some ways you can keep the future bright at St. Stanislaus School. Tuition covers only about two-thirds of the cost of running our school, so in order to keep the cost of tuition down, we need to call on our Catholic Community of friends and families to help.

Alumni GivingAlumni can make gifts to show their support and dedication to Catholic education. Alumni know first hand how important it is to contribute to St. Stanislaus School, because it has been the support of generous benefactors who have kept our school thriving for the past 115 years.

Matching GiftsMany companies match gifts made by their employees to schools. The impact of your donation can be doubled or even tripled by initiating a corporate matching gift. To determine if your employer participates in a matching gift program or to see if your company can participate, please check with your supervisor.

Gifts of Securities or PropertyGifts of stocks, bonds, real estate, or tangible personal property offer special advantages to donors and are greatly appreciated. For additional information regarding these giving opportunities call Sr Ceil or Karen Shea at 592-5135

ANNUAL REPORT 2012-2013 ST. STANISLAUS SCHOOL & PARISH CENTERSt. Stanislaus School has seen improvements to the academic program, particularly in the area of Science and Technology. New Textbooks with e-editions have been purchased for grades six through eight. This enables students and parents to access additional resources and activities related to the curriculum in school and at home. We have increased technology in the classrooms with two additional mobile carts, which include laptops and projectors to enable teachers to access the teaching resources in all grade levels. We purchased thirty iPads for teacher and student use. The hands-on, interactive iPads assist many students in acquiring a better understanding of material being taught through individualized and small group instruction.Improvements to the physical plant include improvements to the air conditioning units for the cafeteria and gym areas and new bright paint in the intermediate classrooms. We are currently working on upgrading the infrastructure of the computer network and wireless system in our school to support the increased use of technology throughout the building. The technology plan requires that we begin installing Aerohive Access Points. The access points are needed to send a stronger wireless signal throughout the building to support the increased use of technology throughout the classrooms. The projected cost of this upgrade is approximately $14,000.00. We are looking for $4,500 for this year to install three Aerohive Access Points. Stop & Shop A+ points raised $380.00 for the school, which was used to purchase new software for the computers. The Terra-cycle, Capri sun pouch recycling raised $181.00, the box tops for education raised $680.00, and the recycling of computer cartridges brought in $650.00 for the school. These funds allowed us to purchase new individual printers for the classrooms and needed software. Collections of Campbell Soup Labels and Coke Rewards points also allow us to order school supplies for students use in art class and the listening center for a classroom. The budget for the 2011-2012 school year was $1.5 million. Fundraising efforts with parents, students, parishioners, businesses, and benefactors raised $85,000 to assist us in providing essential funds to meet budget costs (in striving) to provide a quality Catholic education at an affordable cost. Some of the major fundraising efforts supported by local businesses, the Chicopee community, parishioners, and alumni, included our Annual Fund Drive, which raised $11,155.00, our Education Fund which raised $29,664.40, our School Auction which raised $11,967.00, and the Annual Golf Outing which contributed $12,750.00 to the school budget. St. Stanislaus School has been working cooperatively with other elementary schools in the Diocese to provide professional development for all teachers in regard to the new National Common Core Standards. These standards affect all levels of education. It is important that we are able to meet these expectations to effectively prepare our students for high school. The St. Stanislaus School community believes that we have, within our reach, the potential to do great things. God has graced us with many generous supporters in our parents, parishioners, business partners, and benefactors who believe in and support the mission of Catholic education here at St. Stan’s. We thank all of you for sharing your gifts with us in order to enhance the programs we can offer to our students. We pray for blessings upon each of you during this season of gratitude.
