ROOFING FASTENERS
The TRUFAST® TL Fastener is a glass-filled nylon auger fastener designed to secure roof insulation and single-ply membrane to gypsum and cementitious wood fiber (i.e. Tectum ®) decks. Its tapered shank and large threaddesign provide excellent penetration into the base material for high pull-out resistance. Use with a MPTL-30003" plate for insulation attachment and a MPTL-2000 2" plate for membrane attachment. NOTE: TL Fasteners can beinstalled into some cementitious wood fiber decks without pre-drilling. A pilot hole is required for gypsum and mustbe a minimum of 1/2" deeper than the embedment. Diameter of drill bit should be determined by pull-out test results.

48 Dow® Tile Bond™ Roof Tile Adhesive
TILE BOND™ Roof Tile AdhesiveStrength on any job.
Through the years, there have been many choices for installing concrete and clay roof tiles. And for the most part, none of them have been ideal … until now. TILE BOND™ Roof Tile Adhesive from Dow is a superior solution for installing roof tile. Not only does it go on fast — it stays strong, even in harsh environments where hurricanes, high winds and temperature extremes put adhesive-applied systems to the test.
Tiles go on fast and easy.TILE BOND™ Roof Tile Adhesive can work on a variety of roof tile jobs, including most low/flat, medium, high and two-piece barrel (cap and pan) profiles. TILE BOND™ works in both new and reroof applications. And it’s ideal for patch and repair — as well as for specialty applications such as ridge, rake, valley and hip installations.
TILE BOND™ is a single-component polyurethane adhesive that eliminates the problems typically found with other attachment methods like mortar, screws, wire ties and two-component foam systems. There’s no equipment to calibrate (as you find in two-component products). With TILE BOND™, you just open the valve and you’re ready to go.
Convenience and simplicity.TILE BOND™ Roof Tile Adhesive comes in two convenient sizes. The 23 lb. container of TILE BOND™ is ideal for larger jobs and will adhere up to 575 field tiles at 1.5” x 1” x 4” (paddies). A dispenser is included with each canister that helps you apply it quickly and accurately. The 28 oz. can of TILE BOND™ is ideal for small jobs and repairs and will adhere up to 40 tiles at 1.5” x 1” x 4” (paddies). Tiles should be set within adhesive pad within 4 minutes of dispensing adhesive.*

The superior solution.TILE BOND™ Roof Tile Adhesive gives contractors a welcome alternative to traditional attachment methods. Screws puncture waterproof membranes and the roof deck, leading to leaks. Mortar is heavy, labor-intensive and subject to the effects of freeze-thaw cycles. And two-component systems represent a considerable investment of money while requiring continual monitoring of ratios.
By contrast, TILE BOND™ requires no equipment to apply and protects tiles and other components far better than other methods — while maintaining exceptional adhesive qualities in the harshest weather.
Why we aren’t afraid of hurricanes.TILE BOND™ Roof Tile Adhesive is Miami-Dade County approved** and hurricane-zone qualified. TILE BOND™ is approved for use in applications that are Miami-Dade County approved and meet HVHZ requirements.

50 Firestone: I.S.O. Twin Pack™ Insulation Adhesive
TECHNICAL INFORMATION SHEET
ISO 9000 ID No.: S723-PRD-061
8121/05
I.S.O. Twin Pack™ Insulation Adhesive
Firestone Item Number: W56RACINTA DESCRIPTION: I.S.O. Twin Pack Insulation Adhesive is a two-component low-rise polyurethane adhesive designed for anchoring acceptable roof insulation to specific deck types where allowed by Firestone specifications. I.S.O. Twin Pack Insulation Adhesive is dispensed using I.S.O. Twin Pack Hand Dispenser (Firestone Item No.: W56RACINTG) or I.S.O. Twin Pack Four Bead dispenser (Firestone Item No.: W56RACINT4). The dispensers extrude I.S.O. Twin Pack Part A and B simultaneously to the static mixer, which results in mixed adhesive in bead form.
AVAILABLE WARRANTIES: Firestone Building Products standard warranties are available up to 20-year warranty period. APPLICATION: Install I.S.O. Twin Pack Insulation Adhesive only when ambient conditions, and bonding substrates and insulations, exceed 35° F (2° C) and are rising. To mix and dispense I.S.O. Twin Pack Insulation Adhesive from kits, apply the static mixer over plug end of kit by hand tightening static mixer to kit with plug end facing up. Keep plug end facing up until you are ready to dispense I.S.O. Twin Pack Insulation Adhesive to the deck substrate. Properly mixed I.S.O. Twin Pack will be yellow, with no marbling. Part A and B will be extruded simultaneously through dispensing equipment. To stop dispensing I.S.O. Twin Pack Insulation Adhesive, stop the dispenser plunger from advancing and point the mixing end up to stop Part A and Part B from entering static mixer. This stopped position of the kit can only be maintained for several minutes, as Part A and Part B already in the static mixer will continue to react, set up, and block the static mixer. If the static mixer becomes blocked during stopped period, replace static mixer in order to mix and dispense the remaining Part A and Part B in kit. Apply I.S.O. Twin Pack Insulation Adhesive in a bead 1/2” (12.7 mm) wide to deck substrate in spacing as specified for the project. The adhesive will rise (to a bead of 3/4” – 1” (19.0 mm – 25.4 mm)) within minutes after placement. Rise time will depend on the ambient conditions: warmer=faster; cooler=slower. To insure that the insulation makes continuous contact with the adhesive during the critical set-up period, set the insulation board [(4’ x 4’ (1.22 m x 1.22 m)] maximum) in fresh I.S.O. Twin Pack insulation adhesive before a skim coat develops. Immediately after setting each insulation board, weight each board using full pails of Bonding Adhesive or other available source of weight that will not damage the roof insulation.

52 Fomo Products: Handi Foam Spray Foam 53Fomo Products: Handi Foam Spray Foam
Handi-Foam® Quick Cure Spray Foam is a low pressure foam system that utilizes a non-flammable blowing agent. Handi-Foam Quick Cure Spray Foam has been specifically formulated for flame retardancy and conforms to the requirements of ASTM E84 as a "Class 2(B)" system (flame spread of 75 or less, smoke development of 450 or less). The foam helps to lower heating and cooling costs by drastically reducing energy consumption. Application Areas Spray foam onto any clean, dry surface in any direction to insulate, fill and seal various size voids, deaden sound or reduce vibration. It is specifically designed to spray onto flat or irregular surfaces and to fill large cavities where flame retardant requirements specify E84 Class 2 (B) Spray Foam. Properties Two-component froth foam systems will expand immediately upon chemi-cal reaction of A component (isocyanate) and B component (a polyol blend) to a final volume that is 3 to 5 times the dispensed volume, in typical appli-cations, depending on various factors such as cavity size and ambient conditions. The foam will cure to a semi-rigid closed cell foam. Handi-Foam Quick Cure Spray Foam fully expands and dries tack-free within 30-60 seconds, is cuttable in 2-5 minutes and fully cures within 1 hour. Handi-Foam Quick Cure Spray Foam adheres to almost all building materials with the exception of surfaces such as polyethylene, Teflon®, polypropylene, silicone, oils, greases, mold release agents and similar materials. Optimum application temperature is 75°F (24°C) to 85°F (29°C) but may be sprayed onto colder or warmer substrates, with slight effects on the foam characteristics. Cured foam is resistant to heat and cold, -200°F to +240°F (-129°C to +116°C), and to aging, but not UV rays (i.e. sunlight) unless painted, covered or coated. Cured polyurethane foam is chemically inert and non-reactive in approved applications, and will not harm electrical wire insulations, Romex®, rubber, PVC, polyethylene (i.e. PEX) or other plastic. It is approved for use around wires, plumbing penetrations, etc. Handi-Foam Quick Cure Spray Foam systems are available in three non-refillable sizes to meet specific job applications requirements. When sprayed, the foam will create a seamless, continuous seal to insulate and protect against dust, air infiltration and pests. Physical Properties See technical data table on the second page. Preparation For Use Substrate must be clean, dry, firm, free of loose particles and free of dust, grease and mold release agents. Protect surfaces not to be foamed. Shake kits well before using (applicable to non-refillable systems). Read the enclosed operating instructions available in every kit or they can be found on our website www.fomo.com. Carefully read all cautions and warnings before use. Always refer to the local building codes before appli-cation of product.
Use Warm tanks to 75°F-85°F (24°C-29°C). After following instructions for set-up, attach appropriate hose to tanks A and B if needed (II-605 size). Shake kits well before using. Open tank valves as directed. Materials are dis-pensed through the hoses. Attach the static cone or fan nozzle to the end of the dispensing unit. The A-component and the B-component meet and mix in the disposable nozzle. With a nozzle attached to the two-component froth dispensing unit, dispense foam by squeezing the trigger of the unit. To interrupt or stop foaming process, release the trigger. Once foaming proc-ess has stopped, the dispensing unit must be reactivated within 30 seconds or a new nozzle must be installed. Fresh foam may be applied in several stages to reduce overfilling of void or damage to non-rigid, confined cavi-ties. Cured foam can only be removed mechanically. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Use only in a well-ventilated area with certified respiratory protection or a powered air purifying respirator (PAPR). Wear protective glasses or gog-gles with side shields, nitrile gloves, and clothing that protects against dermal exposure. Read all instructions and safety information (MSDS) prior to use of any product. The MSDS can be found at www.fomo.com. For additional product stewardship information visit www.fomo.com/healthandsafety/default.aspx Important Note: The urethane foam produced from these ingredients will support combus-tion and may present a fire hazard if exposed to a fire or excessive heat about 240°F (116°C). KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Product Storage Store in a dry area. Do not expose the kit or tanks to open flame or tem-peratures above 120°F (49°C). Excessive heat can cause premature aging of components resulting in a shorter shelf life. Handi-Foam Quick Cure Spray Foam is reusable by following product instructions. Cold Weather Note: For best results, foam chemical temperature must be between 75°F-85°F (24°C-29°C). Warm kits for a minimum of 1 day at room temperature.
Disposal Procedures Refer to product SDS (Section 13) for instructions. Always dispose of empty cylinders according to applicable federal, state, provincial and local regulations. Check with your local waste disposal service for guidance. Warranted shelf life is twelve (12) months from date of manufacture.
