Hydroforming utilises fluid-pressure (in place of a punch) to form sheet metal or tubular blanks into complex shapes.
This enables the manufacture of components with improved properties and lower costs compared with conventional manufacturing techniques.
The technique allows for the production of components that would otherwise be made from multiple stampings joined together, to present a range of both structural and economic benefits.

TRS TechModern Presses
Tube Hydroforming process
1 Tube loaded into hydroforming dies.
2 Press closes securing tube in dies.
3 Tube is filled with liquid and internal pressure is increased.
4 Tube takes on the shape of the die.
5 Hydroformed part is removed.
Panel Hydroforming process
1 Sheet is placed above the die
2 Press closes securing sheet in die.
3 Fluid, under pressure, fills the chamber.
4 Pressure is increased. Sheet takes on the shape of the die.
5 Hydroformed panel is removed.
