A BIG THANK YOU to all the volunteers involved in hanging the greens on the community center and auditorium in December. A special thanks to Don and Donna Clovis who spearheaded the operation. The building looked beautiful! A Health & Services Information Fair will be held on Friday, January 9 in the auditorium. There are 25+ vendors providing information, freebies, and door prizes. You don’t want to miss this special event. Andrew Baldini, district sales manager for Collette Tours will be at Tropical Haven on Tuesday, January 20 at 4:00 p.m. to give a picture presentation on the South Dakota Black Hills & Badlands Tour taking place August 25-31, 2015. If you want more information on this tour, plan on attending! The HOA is sponsoring the Sock Hop this year on Friday, January 23. Jean Buehler is director of the event; so you know it will be a lot of fun! Provide us with your high school picture to be displayed at the Sock Hop. Include your name on the back. Turn in to Melissa at the Business Office by January 20. Mobile Home Depot will be here on Monday, January 26 to answer any ques-tions you may have about their new store in Palm Bay and the products and services they provide. On Wednesday, January 28, All Florida Weatherproofing will make a presenta-tion at 10:30 a.m. to discuss their products and services. Sonia McQueen will once again be taking your portrait for the 2015-2016 Tropical Haven Telephone Directory. The HOA will provide you with a free 5”x7”. Such a deal! Sitting appointments are being scheduled between January 20 and 30. Sign-up for your portrait sitting at the business office. Maintenance Supervisor Gary Fay will be taking medical leave beginning January 20 for 6-8 weeks. Your requests will be handled as quickly as possible, but we ask for extra patience with us during this period. The $6.00 lot rent increase is effective January 1, 2015. Sales tax is increasing to 6.5% from 6.0% for the Discretionary Tax passed by Brevard County voters effective January 1, 2015. The sales tax only affects the dead storage fee. For all residents parking in the storage lot, the tax increase will change the monthly amount due to $21.30 per item. If you have prepaid any storage fees, see Melissa to pay the additional tax.
