Fundraising Benefits

Operating Revenue for the TroopAnnual expenses for the troop are a minimum of $3000

Troop Re-charter, Advancement, Camping, Picnics, Holiday Party, Etc.

In order to achieve $3000 minimum needed for annual operating capital from the fundraiser, the troop must sell at least $10,000 of combined popcorn and wreaths

Bottom line, we either make a commitment to fundraising the necessary troop income for the year, or the cost of the activities put a heavier burden on the scout families.

3

Troop 692 Sales Goals

2015 Troop Overall Fundraiser Sales Goal $10,000 ($8,000 Popcorn & $2,000 Wreaths)Each scout will have a total fundraiser sales goal of $1000 for us to

fundraise enough to cover the 2015 troop operating expenses and be able to add some new fun activities

• Total goal can be any combination of wreath and popcorn sales; including credit from the store front sales where they participate

• Guaranteed Scout account rate: 10% of the amount the scout sells– Example: Scout sells their goal of $1000 in wreaths and popcorn

The profit on the sales are as follows:» Scout sales: $1000 x 10% margin = $100.00 in their scout account

» Troop profit $1000 x 29% margin = $290.00 toward the troop goal

Scouts should always be in Uniform when selling

Storefront sales dates are scheduled at various locations throughout the fundraiser

Maximum of 2 scouts to signup per hour – to maintain the hourly rate

Non scout siblings should not be at the storefronts as it adds to congestion and confusion at the sales table

Sales credit for all storefronts held during the sale will be divided among all participants equally

– Total Storefront sales / (total scout hours) = $/Hr (has averaged $60-70/hr)

Easier to staff the storefronts because no matter which one or how

much sold, in the end there is a single hourly rate for all scouts.

Hourly rate will be communicated as each storefront ends to help you

with tracking toward your goal.

Many, Many additional storefronts this year!!!

STOREFRONTS Count toward overall sales including Blitz prizes!!!!

Popcorn Sales - Show and Sell : Storefront Selling Tips

1717

Most people buy on the way out of the store.

• We will be able to accept Credit Cards again this year!!!

• The boys should give a friendly greeting and hold the door open for customers

• Have a bag in hand – something yummy

• Sell the Scouts, not just the product– Make sure people understand that it’s a fundraiser – to help justify the price

– Tell the boys to thank everyone and wish them a good day; whether they buy or not

Make sure the scouts can answer questions about prices

and taste of the product – and use “Would you like to

support Cub Scouts?” instead of “Would you like to buy

some popcorn?”

Don’t sit on chairs – you sell more if everyone is standing and

engaging the customers

NEW We will have a storefront at Arden Hill CUB!!!!!!

Scouts should be in uniform!

Popcorn Sales – Sell at Work

Take the order forms to work and either provide product or leverage Take orders

New “popcorn tent” available in the sales brochure to take to work

Should not be the only form of

selling – the scouts should be

involved and have some

responsibility in sellingIdeas

• Have the kids write a letter to go with

the brochure to explain their goal

• Have the kids help with the delivery and

thank the individuals

19

2009/09/2015

Popcorn Sales – Online

Login to your online account (All scouts may have to create a new account)

Create an custom note on why the scout is selling and their goal

Update the email list with family and friends

Send out the request and monitor the

online sales

Send reminders occasionally – for

older scouts or parents, there are

Troop 692 Incentives Program

NEW - Leader Trading Cards

There will be 8 Leader Trading Cards (2 per leader) that will be available. The cards can be used while camping or at other Troop events where there are various duties to be performed by the scouts.

The cards will enable the winning scout to trade the leader card – back to that leader, and in return, the leader will perform whatever task that was assigned the scout.

For example, Johnny was assigned to wash dishes. Johnny has Mr Matko’s Leader Trading card. He can trade the card back to Mr Matko – and MrMatko will wash the dishes that evening.
