At any rate, the Morgan horse is part of who we are and what we enjoy. We are proud of our Troika Morgans that we have raised and trained and offer them to join your family as fancy show horses or pleasure horses. We invite you to visit us at the farm to meet them and find out if one of our Morgans will capture your heart, just as they have captured ours. Jim, Linda, Kristen and Anne are crazy about Morgan horses. Even our dogs Tippy and Bella are nuts about the horses — or

maybe they’re just horse show bums. But please call ahead so we can straighten up the kitchen for a cup of coffee and warm muffins.

Century Nightmusic (Stonecroft Byzantine x Appleton Baroness)In the spring of 2004 while visiting Mark and Melissa Wahl’s Ken-Mar Stables, Jim and Linda were intrigued by the exotically beautiful head and neck of a young, dark bay stallion with three socks, Century Nightmusic. He walked up to the front of his stall and stretched his neck up and over like a shepherd’s hook, looking at them with the most beautiful eyes.

Well, Jim and Linda were smitten. And when they found out that he is a son of Stonecroft Byzantine and out of Appleton Baroness (also his grand dam), they saw a linebred genetic op-portunity that he would produce as beautifully as he looks. He is passing along his good looks and athleticism to his many winning get. “Music” came to Troika Farm that spring and bred his first two mares, Troika’s Juliette and Troika’s Russian Rulette. Are we happy with the offspring? We are thrilled. Come over for a cup of coffee and see if you agree.

Weanling Filly

Troika’s Ain’t She Sweet, dark bay with chrome(Century Nightmusic x HVK Troy’s Obsession)

Troika’s Ain’t She Sweet has the trademark “Music” socks be-hind and one coronet in front. This filly has it all — upheaded, solid body, full hip, pretty head, trot and fearless. But her name is completely appropriate, as she is very sweet. Two crosses to Vigilmarch through her dam and two to his full sister, Vigilmay, through Music. Here’s type and style with a big girl attitude.

Yearlings

Troika’s Tony Soprano, 2006 gelding(Century Nightmusic x Troika’s Nightingale)

A rich brown, Tony Soprano took reserve champion in the Minnesota All Morgan Sweepstakes and the North Central Morgan (NCMA) Futurity -- beat out by his paternal sibling Troika’s Brown Eyed Girl. Even moving in the arena, he has a fluid athletic lope/canter,

strong trot and uses his long, hingy neck to good advantage. A solid thinker, he could be trained by an amateur for pleasure or show.

Troika’s Brown Eyed Girl, 2006 filly(Century Nightmusic x Stonecroft Escada)

This bright red filly with flashy chrome is the most elegant western pleasure prospect you can hope to find. This photo doesn’t begin to do justice to Brown Eyed Girl -- her swan-like neck, size, smooth body and splendid head. Winner of the Minnesota All Morgan weanling sweepstakes and the NCMA

futurity, she has just begun to tap her potential in the show ring. She is an extremely light mover that promises a comfortable ride decked out in silver.

3-Year-Old Prospect

Troika’s Bobbi Sue, 2005 dark bay filly w/ chrome(Century Nightmusic x Troika’s Juliette)Bobbi is a beautiful dark bay filly with matched socks behind. Her pretty head, long hingy neck and bright attitude are what we look for in a Classic English pleasure or driving horse — lovely silhou-ette. Bobbie is a half sister to our beloved Troika’s Nightingale by Hillfield Nightrider, under the direction of Jordy Johns compet-ing in western pleasure mares at the World and Grand National Morgan Horse Show.

2-Year-Old Prospects

Troika’s Midnight in Moscow, 2006 brown geld (Hillfield Nightrider x Troika’s Oksana)

Troika’s Midnight in Moscow is a brown ¾ brother to Troika’s Black Russian. Moscow’s full sister Troika’s Starry Night is establishing herself as a top notch 3-year-old western pleasure filly at Stone House Stables. “Moscow” has sport horse written all over him, with long legs propelling him in a ground-covering stride. He

is sensible, affectionate and easy to work with.

Troika’s Lady In Red, 2006 bright red filly w/ white(Century Nightmusic x Troika’s Juliette)

Lady In Red has a fantastic trot for the Classic division, ground covering yet rolling high off the front and back — and her legs flash with white socks. She has a beautiful dished head, good hip and a neck that can hinge. You won’t miss this Lady as she trots with authority and is a joy to be around.

Mares

Troika’s Czarina, 2003 bay mare (Whispering Whamunition x Stonecroft Escada)Czarina is quality, through and through and is the first in from the pasture for attention. Her sire needs no introduction and her mother is from the female family of Schiaparrelli, Suite After and Carillon Command, the dam of Stonecroft Masquerade. She has a great topline, a long, full hip, short back and hits level trotting in the pasture. Czarina has a feminine head with those tiny “Wham-my” ears. Czarina is green under saddle and offers tremendous potential as a broodmare.

Troika’s Oksana, 1995 black mare(Duke of Wynne x Liberty Bend Corbeau)“Okie” is always alert for someone coming to the barn and parks out on a moment’s notice to get a peppermint. She loves attention and bonds wonderfully with her riders. Oksana would be a perfect walk-trot partner for a young family or can continue her career as a broodmare. Dam of Starry Night, she is an easy breeder and good mother who produces quality. Very smart and the most watchful horse on the farm — who needs a Guinea Hen?

Stonecroft Escada, 1991 bay mare(Fiddler’s First Command x Wham Bam Thank U Mam)Escada is a beautiful, tall, leg-waving mare. She has huge eyes and is full of snort and a big trot. Her dam is a full sibling to World Champion Park Saddle winner Schiaparelli, Suite After and Caril-lon Command, the dam of Stonecroft Masquerade. Escada has produced two big-trotting daughters for us and a superior western prospect filly. She sells with a breeding to Century Nightmusic for a 2010 foal.

Per formance Horses

Troika’s Nightingale, 2000 black western mare(Hillfield Nightrider x Troika’s Juliette)

Troika’s Nightingale is the one all the visitors to our farm point to and ask, “who’s she?” Currently in training with Jordy Johns, “Birdie” will be in OKC in mares western pleasure. A stunning mare in all ways with a big expressive eye, dished face, uniform and balanced body, archy neck and a “Number 10” lope.

Langtree’s Hooligan, 1993 bay gelding(Centurion Command x Boss’s Lady Sue)

“Julio” is Linda’s sporty and willing carriage driving horse, winning ribbons in all of his carriage driving classes at the nationals ’07. He really shines pulling the carriage or sleigh, and does reins-manship patterns with ease. He is also ridden as a junior exhibi-tor hunter pleasure horse. He is an awesome walk/trot hunter mount and could be trained for western, too. Julio hauls, clips and behaves like a prince. A great friend and companion with big “smiling” brown eyes, he is the perfect horse for a family or a competitive carriage driver.
