INTRODUCTION

The course is divided into 7 lessons, beginning with the Root Chakra and finishing in the Crown Chakra.  Each full-length video isunder 30 minutes. You DO NOT have to utilize all the videos in one sitting, however, you’re more than welcome to! My best recommendation is focusing on ONE chakra per week for a more in-depth cleanse or you can simply do the 7 days.  Thechoice is yours! This will allow you the space to practice the corresponding video, utilize meditation and mantras, and identify whether the Chakrayou are exploring is balanced or imbalanced. Utilizing this approach makes it easier to implement and apply the lessons in your daily life!

HOW TO USE THIS COURSE?

WHAT ARE CHAKRAS?In yogic and ayurvedic philosophy, Chakras (cha-kra) are energy bundles organized into 7 different locations in the body thattravel from the very base of the spine to the top of the crown. In western culture, we would refer to chakras as “nerve bundles or plexuses” that distribute energy to specific regions of the bodythrough signals to and from the brain. Energy freely flows through the body — this is known as “prana.” (prah-nah)

WHY DO THE CHAKRAS NEED CLEANSING?

Energy can become stuck or stagnant when one or multiple chakras become imbalanced or blocked, which in turn can wreakhavoc on all aspects of life.  For example, relationships with self and others, creativity, self-expression, sexuality, mentalawareness, and flexibility, etc. Often times common ailments such as depression, anxiety, fatigue, and chronic pain can be related to an overactive orunderactive nervous system.  While advances in modern medicine have helped to improve some of these issues, many of us areseeking a more natural approach to healing. And that healing begins within the chakras. NOTE: As you balance each chakra, emotions and feelings may come up such as past disappoints, traumas, personal loss, etc.  This is completely normal as you start to release some of this stuck energy that’s been trapped in your body. Cryingduring this process is normal and very healing as well!  On the opposite end of the spectrum, you may feel parts of yourbody re-energized and aligned, more open, and most of all free! Be open to feeling your way through this practice…emotionally and physically.

DAY 1: ROOT"FEELING SAFE AND GROUNDED"

Every form of life and relationship starts with a foundation of trust and security – “ground-zero” I like to call it.  This is the maintheme of the Root Chakra. The red-colored root chakra is symbolic of return to the womb when we were safe and secure within our mothers beforeemerging into the world.  We can relate this element to the beginning of relationships, not only with a partner but mainly withoneself.  Trust is never freely given, however, the goal of this chakra is staying grounded in self through our beliefs, spiritualpractices, and literally reconnecting with the ground. The Root Chakra also relates to childhood and how we grew up.  Our first experiences with intimacy are established within ourfamily.  We learn to love and build relationships through what we learn from our parents and immediate family.  Family traumasor suffering any form of childhood abuse (physical, mental, or sexual) creates an energetic uprooting, creating imbalances thatcan result in fear of intimacy, physical touch, inability to trust and love, and never feeling at home.

ROOT CHAKRA (MULADHARA CHAKRA)

GroundingSurvival (food, water, sleep, shelter)Security (financial, independence)Physical identity, aspects of self, human physicalityFoundation

Security and money can be a “make it or break it” in relationships. When we struggle with feeling like we are safe within ourrelationships it can cause unnecessary friction, resulting in arguments, resentments, and ultimately breakups. We are eachresponsible for how we give and receive trust and love. If we have been burned in the past, we can carry that negative energy intothe next relationship or continue to attract lovers that keep us in that same abuse pattern or cycle.Practicing grounding exercisessuch as yoga, meditation, and mantra allows you to uproot what is no longer serving you and provides the opportunity to create anew foundation that promotes healthier relationships. DAY 2: SACRAL“GOING WITH THE FLOW AND TAPPING INTO CREATIVITY”

The second chakra is the key to developing flexibility in our life. It is associated with the emotional body, sensuality, and creativity. The function of the sacral chakra is motivated by pleasure. This Chakra is the driving force for the enjoying life through all senses – sight, sound, touch, hearing, tasting. It allows you to “feel”the world, both internal and external. The Sacral Chakra is the foundation of our feeling of “well-being.”

SACRAL CHAKRA (SVADHISTHANA CHAKRA)

Movement and flow of emotions and thoughtsEmotions, feelingsRelationships, relating to others intimatelyExpression of sexualityPleasure and sensuality

The Sacral Chakra concerns emotions and is the center of our feelings, sensations, and pleasure source. It is particularly active inour sexuality and the expression of our sensual and sexual desires. This chakra allows us to feel and experience intimate connections with a partner through emotional trust, sexual exploration, andmutual pleasure.  Improving and mastering our sexuality may activate and strengthen these Chakras. Healing this area may also benefit sexual trauma, sexual stigma, or other blockages that prevent us from connecting to our sexualbeing and deeper intimate connection with others, both sexual and non-sexual. Color: Orange Location:  Center of the lower belly, approximately 3 inches below the navel and in line with the center of the lumbar region. DAY 3: SOLAR PLEXUS“OWNING YOUR BADASSERY”

The third chakra is characterized by the expression of will power, personal power, and activated when we assert ourselves in theworld. I call this the “get sh*t done/make sh*t happen” chakra because this region is where we get down to business! The main function of the Solar Plexus Chakra is to provide actual momentum and energy to move forward, realize personaldesires and intentions in the world, and put them into play.  This is an area of developing personal power. This chakra feeds your direction in life and the actions you take in making your goals a reality. Think of it as the action chakra. Italso is associated with self-image and social status. When balanced, you find a keen harmony between your personal power and relationships with others. Whereas, whenimbalanced, it can undermine your self-confidence and belief in your abilities.

SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA (MANIPURA CHAKRA)

Will powerTaking controlAccountabilitySuccessesMaking decisions

The Solar Plexus Chakra is the center of personal control and power.  Power and control is a balancing act that requires fine-tuning throughout a relationship.  Relationships can literally end over power struggles.  We have all seen romantic comedieswhere one person leaves the relationship because the other is too controlling or on the opposite spectrum too passive. When we become imbalanced in this chakra, we can begin to abuse our power, try to control our partner, and manipulate them— or on the contrary, we allow ourselves to be manipulated, abused, and lose self-confidence and self-esteem. I also call this the “Christian Grey” of chakras — where you can safely explore the gaining or relinquishing of control with yourpartner — in the bedroom (wink). DAY 4: HEART“GIVING AND RECEIVING LOVE”

The fourth chakra connects and integrates the upper and lower chakras, effortlessly and harmoniously.  It allows for theintegration of the more grounded and earthly energies of the body with the higher, more ethereal energies of the upper chakras. When the heart energy is open and balanced, we have clear vison of oneself and utilize compassionate discernment in anysituation, no matter how challenging or difficulty it may be. The heart chakra is also the energy center through which beauty in life is experienced.  We see the world through balanced visionwith a state of openness, acceptance, and experiencing the world as it is in profound and fulfilling ways.

HEART CHAKRA (ANAHATA CHAKRA)

CompassionUnderstandingSelf-love, loving of othersEmpatheticForgiveness/AcceptanceGrieving and finding peace

The Heart Chakra concerns the element of love, whether giving or receiving – with emphasis on deep connections with others, and how open we are in relationships. Love is the energy that helps transform emotions and experiences. It is an essentialenergy for the survival of any relationship, whether with others or oneself. This chakra is where we cultivate self-love and self-compassion/acceptance as we offer ourselves and others forgiveness, empathy, and compassionate discernment. Often times, we can begin to “love too much”, to over give in relationships, and allowourselves to feel depleted with the eventual result of resentment toward oneself or a partner. It is the responsibility of oneself to handle the heart with care and be accountable for how much you are giving and receiving in arelationship. Love experienced in the fourth chakra is less about romance, and more concerning expansion past the limitations ofthe ego and personal hold-ups, to allow for a more open, fully compassionate acceptance of all that is, as it is. DAY 5: THROAT“SELF-EXPRESSION AND COMMUNICATION”

The fifth chakra emphasizes the expression of oneself – your truth, purpose in life, and projecting creativity into the world withauthenticity. The vibration of the Throat Chakra can be felt throughout the body, thus promoting balance and harmony in the upper and lowerchakras. This chakra concerns all forms of communication, in particular speaking with authenticity, clarity, and expressing yourself freely. When this chakra becomes imbalanced it can either shut down your voice or cause you to over-talk and communicate from aninauthentic place.

THROAT CHAKRA (VISHUDDHA CHAKRA)

Self-expressionExpressing your truth, speaking outCommunication: verbal/non-verbal, external/internalSpeaking ideas and creations into existence

Communication is key in any relationship. When we speak to loved ones or a partner with clarity, tact, and kindness, we promote a feeling of peace and harmony.  On thecontrary, when words are spoken that are cutting, inauthentic, and hurtful, we create a negative (and sometimes painful) rift inthe relationship. It is said the people who are closest to you are the ones who can cut you the deepest. Therefore, it is importantto stay as balanced as possible in this chakra because words are powerful — what we speak, we create. In a relationship, depending on the dynamics, you may find your voice being shut down or unable to truly express how you feelout of fear, mistrust, or unwillingness to authentically share who you are.  On the contrary, you may also find yourself over-expressing, over-sharing, dominating conversation and eventually pushing people away. In the bedroom, by using the Throat Chakra, you can tap into the energy of the Sacral Chakra to fully express and communicateyour sensual desires and fantasies with your partner.  In fact, the Throat and Sacral Chakras are naturally connected to theirelements of creativity and emotions. DAY 6: THIRD EYE“SEEING AND PERCEIVING”

The sixth chakra is driven by openness and imagination.  It is closely associated with the pineal gland, which regulates biorhythms– sleep/wake time. It is also associated with the optic nerves for its relationship with the perception of light and sight with sensitivity to visualstimulus and shifts in light. This chakra is a focal point for meditation to focus our mind and consciousness beyond personal pre-occupations to align withour greater good. Here we tune-in to intuition and “inner sight/reflection.”

THIRD EYE CHAKRA (AJNA CHAKRA)

VisionIntuitionPerception of lightImagination/Day DreamingConnection to insightTapping into inspiration and creativity

The Third Eye Chakra is more intrinsic in nature. When balanced, it offers keen insight into ourselves and others around us – especially loved ones.  For instance, when you tune into the subtle intuitive energy of this chakra, you can anticipate or determine exactly what your loved one needs before evenspeaking a word. Imbalance can affect relationships where each partner can not see “eye to eye” and lack the stillness and clarity needed to tuneout distractions and preoccupations in order to actively understand one another. Meditating with your partner can dramatically shift the energy toward a more positive vibe and diffuse any situation to bringclarity and restore peace. DAY 7: CROWN“COMPLETE BLISS”

The seventh chakra gives us access to higher states of consciousness beyond distractions of our personal preoccupations andlimited vision. It is driven with an emphasis on consciousness and puts us in touch with everything around us. You are able to experience every sensation completely and fully without effort.  Energy freely flows throughout the body, tensionmelts away, and you feel completely connected to yourself and those around you. For those who have suffered any form of abuse or trauma, whether physical, mental, or sexual, the Crown Chakra represses theseexperiences and may disconnect us from our body for protection. Healing and balancing other chakras down the line may stir upold experiences and bring them to light where they resonant in the Crown Chakra. However, this is also where true healing and understanding take place.

CROWN CHAKRA (SAHASRARA CHAKRA)

ConsciousnessTapping into wisdomHigher awareness

When we are balanced in this chakra, it is a sign we are balanced in all other chakras below.  The work you do to balance each onebrings you to total bliss or in yogic Sanskrit -- “Samadhi” (sah-mod-hee). As you have journeyed through each chakra, you mayrealize how many blockages can affect your relationship with oneself and others.  There are so many intrinsic factors to thishuman life and how we move through it.  Even more, it goes to show that true intimacy starts within. In regards to intimate relationships, this chakra specifically unites you with others on a deeper, more meaningful level.  It goesbeyond emotions and the physical body.  It is an intrinsic “knowing” or some may say a “spiritual connection.” For instance, in thepast, you may have experienced a feeling as if you have known someone forever, but have only just met this person.  There is anatural, effortless connection and unexplainable “knowing” that simply exists, yet it feels oddly comfortable. In this specific chakra is where you can forge solid relationships borne out of depth, integrity, and spirituality.  In other words, attract and keep those people who light you up the most!
