Mission

Minadores de Sueños is a non-profit organisation that promotes the development of children and

adolescents who belong to the lower classes. It is situated in a small town called Rancho los Pinos in

Quito, Ecuador.

The mission of the organisation is to promote positive changes in the childrens family and social lifes. This

will be done based on the most basic humanvalues.

Minadores de Sueños supports high-class education for children and adolescents and seeks to

put in place the building blocks of education so that the children and adolescents of the town can become

self supporting and reach their full potential.

Integral to the vision is an active workgroup which interacts with the local people and creates

educational and administrative processes that meet the needs of the local population.

The foundation focuses on the following topics:

Education, Recreation, nutrition and health.

These topics are adapted periodically to the needs and problems of the children and teenagers from the local area. To provide the desired quality and

to share financial and personal resources. We have the pleasure to work with other

organisations.

Main focus

EducationThere are many children who have severe difficulties

in school. Some have to repeat a year or leave school early due to these difficulties. This has

a major bearing on their future.

The foundation has the following aims:To provide a suitable environment where the children can do their homework and get professional support.

To improve the quality of education for children with learning difficulties.

We provide: Individual help with homework, scholarships,remedial teaching, school visits,

courses for teenagers and games based learning.

The children often spend their free time wandering the streets

aimlessly and whilst wandering the streets there is the inherent danger that the children

will get involved in drugs and gangs or just end up in potentially dangerous situations.

The foundation is set up with the following aims:To provide an environment of recreation, integration and participation where the children can pass their

free time safely and actively.

We provide: Vacation programmes, excursions and camps, arts and crafts, various coursesand outdoor play

Recreation

Children and adolescentes are people with rights who need

protection.

The foundation is set up with the following aims:To educate the families in hygienic routines,

so that a clean, healthy and dignified environment is guaranteed.

To offer advice to the families about medical and psychological support for their children.

We provide: Medical, psychological and therapeutical support, promotion of daily hygiene, access

to a specialised institution and home assistance

Health

Why „Minadores de Sueños”?“Minadores” are people who were ousted from society.

These people live, work and fight on the edge of society, trying to survive in an environment which

is incredibly difficult. We recognise them as humans with dreams and hopes.

Dreams are essential for humans. It is our dreams that help us to build a life that is worth living.

Dreams give us hope and that hope enables us to fight for a better life in the future.

Minadores de Sueños invites you to follow the dreams of the children and contribute to ensure that alltheir dreams are realised.

NutritionHealthy nutrition is fundamental for children who are growing into adults. In the local area the nutrition of

the children is severely impacted by high levels of unemployment and the general financial situation of

the local people.

The foundation has the following aims:To decrease the instances of malnutrition by offering a balanced lunch and healthy snacks in the afternoon

To impart the knowledge of healthy and balanced nutrition to the families in the local area

We provide: A nutritionally balanced lunch, healthy snacks

and courses in nutrition.
