5-DAY PROGRAM
DAY 1
In the morning, you’ll arrive at Vienna International Airport. After
picking up your luggage, you’re ready to go to your hostel. To get
there you take the CAT City Airport Train and the underground. (You’ll
see how to get to the hostel in this brochure under the headline
“Transfer”.
After the check-in in your hostel, you have some time to take a short
break before your sightseeing-tour begins.
Your sightseeing tour starts in
the first district of Vienna.
First, you’ll see the St.
Stephens Cathedral. If you
like you can do a shopping
tour in Vienna’s most
popular shopping streets. At
Graben, Kärntnerstraße and
Kohlmarkt you’ll find every
kind of shops.
To get some energy for the next sights take some time and enjoy
some typical Austrian food, Sachertorte at Café Hotel Sacher.
Next, you’ll visit the Imperial Crypt Kapuzinergruft. Then you’ll visit the
very famous Opera of Vienna, where the Opernball takes place every
year. If you’re interested in historical cathedrals you can also visit
Karlskirche and Karlsplatz.
In the evening, you can go to a restaurant for dinner. Next to your
hostel there are many restaurants, so you have the free choice.
DAY 2
Vienna is a very beautiful city, with
many sights to visit.
After breakfast at your hostel, you visit
two of the most interesting buildings in
Vienna.
During your promenade through the
city you see the Kunsthistorisches- and
the Naturhistorisches Museum (Museums of Natural and Art History).
Persons under 19 don’t have to pay admission. But if you choose to
do a guided tour you have to pay (the prices are variable).
After that, you can have a break at Volksgarten or at the
Museumgsquartier.
Then, the tour goes on and you’ll see the Parliament and the City Hall
of Vienna.
When you’d like to eat something you can visit one of the Wiener
Würstl’ Standl’, where you can buy some sausages eg. The “Wiener
Würstchen (Viennese sausages).
If you love shopping you can go to Mariahilferstraße. During your
shopping trip you can do a short visit to Haus des Meeres (house of
the sea). In the evening you can have your dinner in one of the
restaurants at Mariahilferstraße, for example freiraum or Vapiano.

DAY 3
On your third day in Vienna you’re going to visit Schönbrunn Palace,
first the castle and then the zoo.
You’re going to visit Castle Schönbrunn, where Sissi our famous
empress lived in.
After a walk through the impressive garden of this castle, you’ll see
the Gloriette, there you can drink some coffee.
If you’d like to see the oldest still existing zoo of the world, you can
have a look at Tiergarten Schönbrunn. At the zoo there is a restaurant
where you can satisfy your hunger.
In the evening you can go to the “Donau Insel” and enjoy the festival.
DAY 4
On the 4th day you enjoy the biggest open air festival in Europe. The
Donauinsel Fest offers you many different artists on different stages.
In the morning, you have time to chill out at the Donauinsel before
the party starts in the evening. You can drink some cocktails in one of
the cocktail bars or just hang out in the sun.

attractions.
If you like you can party all night long.

DAY 5
Since you probably didn’t get
much sleep last night, todays’
program is not exhausting that.
On your last day in Vienna you’re
going to visit the amusement
park Wiener Prater.
If you like to have real big fun,
join all the attractions and when
you are hungry, try some typically
Austrian food eg. Stelze (knuckle
of pork) at the Schweizerhaus.
In the evening, you’re going back to your hostel and go back to the
airport.
Danube Island Festival
Vienna Danube Island Festival 2012 takes place between 22.-24. June
2012 on the Vienna Danube Island. Location of the festival area is at
the Danube Island between the bridges "Reichsbrücke" and
"Nordbrücke". No comission or registration. The entry is free for all,
Austrians and foreigners. Have a great time.
