ThisisatripforallmembersanditisTOTALLYFREE.AllyouhavetodotogetonthetripisbeoneofthefirstpeopletosayYES.ThereareLIMITEDspacesonthistrip,sodon’tdelayifyouwanttodoit–weCAN’Ttakeeveryone.

WewillstartontheFridayeveningbytravellingtotheRiverWye,campingthenightandthengettingupearlytobereadytogetontheriverforthefirstday’spaddling.

WewillpaddletothecampsitewherewewillstaythenightonSaturdayandthencarryondowntheRiverontheSundaytothefinishpoint.

Wewillprovideallmajorequipmentandfood,allyouneedtodoisbringyourselveswithsomeclothesandasleepingbag&mat.

Ifyouneedtoborrowasleepingbag&matwecanhelpyouwiththisaswell.

SupervisionontheRiverTheexpeditionwillbesupervisedbyourownLevel1Canoeinstructors(SimonThomasandStuartKnight)andaprofessionalLevel3canoeinstructorwithspecialistknowledgeoftheriver.

AccommodationWewillbestayingatThePoundcampsite(http://www.poundbandb.co.uk/)onFriday10thJuneandByeCrossFarmcampsite(http://www.byecrosscampsite.co.uk/)onSaturday12thJune.Thereisplentyofspaceforthetentsatbothsites–iftheweatherisgoodwemayevenjustcampoutintheopenwithatarpaulinasarooftokeepanythingfromdroppingonus.

LocationandLocalAreaTheareaoftheRiverWyefromWhitney-On-WyetoHerefordisabeautifulareaofthecountryandpossiblythebestpartoftheRiverWye.It’saneasypartoftheRivertopaddlesospecialistskillswon’tberequired–anyonecantakepartinthistrip.Toseethestartpointclickthislink.

WeatherTheusualweatherinJuneisnormallyquitegood–butitcouldstillrainandbealittlecoolalthoughwehopeitwon’tbe.Weknowtheareaandweknowthatifeveryonehastherightgeartheweatherdoesn’tmatter.Everyonewillneedwaterproofjacketandtrouserstotakepart,ifyouhavethoseyou’llbefinenomatterwhatevertheweatherdoes.
