New Sunday Adult Bible Class Topic – “Favorite Psalms”

We all love singing hymns in worship and turning their words over in our minds. The book of Psalms is the Holy Spirit’s hymnal in the Scriptures. In fact, many of our hymns are based on specific Psalms. Today in Sunday Bible class we will examine “Favorite Psalms.” Come for growth in faith and for fellowship with other believers.

Pastor Yahnke’s Installation The date for Pastor Yahnke’s installation as associate pastor at Trinity is today,

November 8 at 4:00 in the afternoon. A meal will follow. Plan to be there to welcome him and his family to Trinity!

Installation Potluck Please join us as we welcome Pastor Yahnke and his family at a potluck supper following

his installation service. Members are asked to bring a main dish and a side or dessert. If you like to help with serving the meal, contact Audrey Zautner at 920-261-2034.

Men’s Choir Men's Choir will have a short practice today following the second service from 11:30 -

11:45 am to finish preparing the song for this afternoon's installation service. Men's Choir will also meet in the church basement today at 3:45 pm for a short warm-up. The next Men's Choir practice will be held on Tuesday, November 17, from 6:00 - 6:55 pm. in the church basement.

Veterans’ Day Observance Trinity-St. Luke’s Lutheran School will hold its annual Veterans’ Day observance on

Thursday, November 12, 2015. A special program of thanks will be held in the Clark Street campus gymnasium at 9:15 am that morning. Our special speaker for the program will be Pastor Paul Burk, pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek (Farmington). Prior to his education at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Pastor Burk served his country in the armed forces. There will be a special presentation on the various monuments located in Watertown that honor the men and women who have served their community in the various branches of the service. Special music and art projects will be presented by the children of TSL. We would invite all of our congregational members and friends to come and join in the observance. At 8:00 am that morning a breakfast will be served in the Clark Street Commons to which our veterans and their spouses and family members are invited. We hope that many will be able to attend! Those attending the breakfast are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, November 11, by calling the school office at 920-206-1844. If you have any questions or desire further information, please call either school office at 261-3615 or 206-1844.

Women in Service Meeting Trinity Women in Service will meet at 1 pm on Thursday, November 12 in the Fireside

Room Conference Center. A program will be presented by Pastor Dan Schroeder. Pastor Schroeder will talk about his work as an editor at Northwestern Publishing House. Come join us for cookies and beverages. The hostess will be Ione Staude.

Advent by Candlelight Save the date. Trinity women (ages 14 and up) are invited to our third annual Advent by

Candlelight. It will be held in the Fireside Room on Sunday, December 6 at 6 pm. Join us for Christmas reflections, fellowship and dessert. We know that some of you love to decorate, while others love to try new recipes and bake gorgeous desserts. This year you can sign up as a table decorator; bring out your special dishes and table decorations. Or sign up to bring a wonderful dessert. The desserts will be placed on a common table so the Advent by Candlelight guests can choose their favorites. If you would like to decorate, bake, or just come and enjoy, please sign up in the Fireside Room. For more information contact Kathy Strucely at 206-1745 or [email protected]

First Love at Christmas For several years the members of Trinity have opened their hearts at Christmas to help

out Trinity members and some in the community have a joyful Christmas. This has been done through money gifts or by purchasing items off the recipient’s wish list. This week a door collection will be taken after the services for the First Love at Christmas program. You will find the First Love at Christmas brochure in the Fireside Room with more information.

Forward in Christ and Meditations The November issue of Forward in Christ can be found for subscribers in the Fireside

Room. The Meditations daily devotion book is available to subscribers in the Fireside Room. This begins the new subscription year.

November OWLS Meeting The next monthly meeting of our local OWLS chapter will be in Fort Atkinson, hosted

by St Paul's Lutheran Church on November 17 at 1:30 pm. Mr. Floyd Pfeifer of Fort Atkinson, a veteran of the Korean War, has gone on "The Honor Flight" to Washington DC and will tell of his experience. Refreshments follow. The Organization of WELS Seniors (OWLS) provides meaningful activity for those who are retired and/or 50 years old. Enjoy spiritual growth and the fellowship of neighboring WELS and ELS members. St. Paul's congregation, with over 1,250 members, traces its beginnings to 1861 on the greatest elevation in Fort Atkinson at 301 South High Street. You are invited, and bring a friend!

Mountains of Diapers Drive A mountain of diapers and wipes were delivered to Alpha Life Center this week. The

final total was 1,026 diapers and 2,276 wipes. Thanks to all who donated so generously!
