Two opportunities to give. . . . . In support of a family in need, you are invited to remove a tag from one of the trees in the Narthex and purchase a gift for our Christmas family. You may drop your unwrapped gift off at the Church office by Dec 18th or bring it to church on Dec 17th. If shopping is not your thing, may we suggest a donation for the family’s Christmas dinner? Below is a reverse Advent Calendar with items for the New Glasgow Academy. Rather than take something out each day, we are putting something into a box each day that will be donated to the Panther Pantry early in the new year. Thank you once again for your continued support!

Pre Service Music: 1) Lord, Prepare Me to Be a Sanctuary 3x 2) Wait for the Lord 3x 3) Jesus Came Bringing Us Hope (Peace) Welcoming and Focus on Community Passing of the Peace Peace Candle is lit Advent Candle Lighting Angels: Peace Angels, where are you going? Can we go to? We have been given an important task. We are taking a message to some shepherds. It will be a message of peace for the whole world. It is a very exciting time, we get to tell the whole world that Jesus has been born. Please do come with us and join in our song of Peace! Thank-you angels for your faith, and your gift of peace. We join you on this advent adventure. (The second blue candle is lit.) Hymn: Hope is a Star (vs. 2) Opening prayer:

The advent journey is the reminder of God coming among us. God, both wholly mystery, and manifest in ordinary life; In our despair, we seek the gift of Hope. In times of turmoil, we seek a bringer of Peace. In our sadness, we pray for the presence of Joy. In our heartache, we long to experience a God of Love. And so today, feeling a little bit of everything, we gather in confidence and hope, knowing that we will find God in our deepest longings and be blessed. Amen.

Sing: Come Thou Long Expected Jesus Learning Time: Messengers and Messages Scripture: Mark 1:1-8 Special Music: Waiting! - Schram Reflection: “Angels Among Us” The Offering Sing: I Am a Child of God Prayer of Dedication Solo: The Little Road to Bethlehem -Head Sally O’Neill Words of Blessing: Enter this week with A sense of peace.
