CLOVERLEAF
Officer Training Day and Achievement Day 2013 We hope that everyone had a great time at Officer Training
Day and Achievement Day! There was a wonderful turnout
this year and it’s always exciting to see our members gather
together in one big group. Best of luck to all of our newly
elected officers and congratulations to everyone on their
achievements earned throughout this past year. Be sure to
look inside this edition of Cloverleaf for photos of the events.
Also big thank you goes out to our club hosts: Hayfork Timberjacks (Officer
Training Day) and Southern Trinity (Achievement Day). And of course, thank you to
all of our trainers: Jenni Brookins, President; Roni Millsap, Vice President; Meshell
Gamlen, Historian; Heidi Van Dine, Healthy Living Officer; Christine, Seronello,
Reporter; Dennis Johnson, Sergeant-at-Arms; Tess and Shae Johnston, Song/
Recreation Leader.
Electronic Enrollment Please note that each family should be enrolling themselves electronically,
through the 4-H Online Enrollment System. This must be done through the family’s
own profile; not through an enrollment coordinator’s profile. This minimizes the
amount of paperwork that must be completed and collected, while easing the
burden placed upon our Community Club Leaders. If reliable internet access
presents an issue, please seek access at a local school, library, or the 4-H Office.
If you are experiencing any difficulties with the enrollment process, please contact
your club leader or the 4-H Rep at [email protected].
2014-2015 Enrollment Fees Enrollment fees for 2014-2015 will be: $44 per youth and $12 per adult. All fees
are to be paid directly to the club of your choice.
Reminder for Community Club Leaders The following documents are due to Nate by December 1st: 2014-2015 Club
Budget, 2014-2015 Program Planning Guide, 2014-2015 Club Officers, Updated
List of Account Signers. These can be mailed, e-mailed, faxed, or dropped off.
Thank you very much for your help!

enhance the teaching process. The posters or visual aids should include a title, materials, process, and
summary.
An Illustrated Talk teaches a concept or skill that would be impractical to demonstrate in a classroom
setting. Posters or equivalent visual aids should include at least an introduction/title card, information
card, and a summary card. Models or other visual aids can be used to enhance the presentation.
A Scientific Demonstration uses the steps used by scientists to answer questions and solve problems.
The scientific process includes the following steps: 1) Ask a question. 2) Form a hypothesis of what you
expect the answer to your question to be. 3) Test the hypothesis by conducting an experiment. 4) Ana-
lyze the results of the tests and information you have gathered. 5) Draw conclusions regarding the hy-
pothesis from the tests. 6) Communicate the results.

and deliver his or her own speech. The speaker will persuade, inform or educate the audience on a sin-
gle issue or topic. The topic should be age appropriate for the member and in good taste. Advocacy of
political or religious views is not appropriate The purpose of this category is to encourage participants to

with a topic on it. The topic will be developed from pre-announced categories. From the time the speaker
receives the topic, he/she will be allowed 3 minutes to prepare a speech. The maximum speaking time
