EMBROIDERY THREAD OPTIONSThe thread colors pictured here are from A & E Signature threads, and are 100% Polyester. They have excellent color retention with a high luster finish, are strong to prevent breakage, and have very good abrasion resistance that will stand up to the rigors of industrial washing. We feel these threads perform well in most embroidery applications and recommend their use. Since the conditions of end use, washing, pressing and other curing techniques are beyond our control, the user of the end product should always determine if this thread choice is the best for their purposes.

For home wash embroidery applications, we also inventory Robison-Anton Super Strength Rayon thread. This thread is slightly smaller in size and creates a high shine finished product. Embroidery using these threads must be special ordered through our Customer Service Department.

Embroidery ordered through the online interface, Imagine It, will be embroidered using A & E Signature thread.

PANT STRIPES The stripes shown here are straight cut and 1" in width. They are 100% Polyester with a fused backing in order to maintain their shape and eliminate shrinkage.

These stripes are also used for embroidering a name as shown on the red shirt on page 12. This application is home wash and industrial laundry friendly and provides an alternative to name embroidery on an emblem.

Suggested Placements: • Any pant or short side seam• As a name strip for embroidery purposes, placement is usually

left or right upper front

REFLECTIVE TRIMThere are several color options and widths of reflective trims that can be selected for attachment to your garments. They are primarily divided into four categories: FR – Industrial Wash, FR – Home Wash, Industrial Wash, and Home Wash. Many stripe styles are available in one or more of these categories; however, prices will vary depending on the trim and locations selected. Please be sure to select the correct trim.

The codes under each trim indicate the following:1) the activity code2) the VF style number, or component code3) the width of the trim

Suggested Placements: For suggestions regarding reflective trim placement, see pages 26-29 in this catalog. For package stripe placement, where several stripes are combined on one garment, go to vfimagewear.com and after logging in, click on the bar at the bottom of the screen that says, “Reflective Striping”. PIPINGOur piping is a pre-made trim and is 100% Polyester. Piping is inserted inside a seam so that the “lip” is hidden and the rounded “cord” part of the trim is exposed. Because of the prep work, or deconstruction of the garment that is necessary to add piping, it is typically more expensive than some other customization options. It can be used on a variety of garments.

METALLIC TRIMLace braid is the name typically given to metallic braid trims that have textures or striped patterns along the length of the braid. They are frequently added to the sleeves of jackets indicating rank within the military or on pilots uniforms. They should be dry cleaned only.

Suggested Placements:

Add to sleeves, collars or on epaulets. They can also trim the edges of pocket flaps or be placed on top of a sleeve overlay.

Quasar trim is a delicate braid that will lend a touch of silver or gold elegance to a garment. It is recommended for dry cleaning.

Suggested Placements: Use on the ladies’ bolero or bustier along front and / or collar edges, or as a collar / cuff trim on shirts.

SOUTACHEOur soutache braid is 100% Polyester and can be used on many different garments. It can be used instead of piping without needing to break open a seam or can be used as an accent to work with a fabric overlay.

KNIT TRIMOur knit trim is 100% Polyester and can be washed in a light soil industrial environment. Because it is a knit, it is more flexible and can maneuver around corners on collars and cuffs. Garments customized with knit trim can be industrial laundered, home washed or dry cleaned.

Overlays and bias trims should match the fabric content of the garment being customized when possible. Washing instructions will not change when a garment is customized with the same fabrics or trims in different colors. Bias trims are available in ½" widths.
