Nursery schoolThe nursery school closed its doors

March 13 following in the footsteps of Find-

lay City Schools. We are quite saddened by the

circumstances that necessi-tated this. However, the nurs-

ery school teachers have been doing all they can for the preschoolers

through Facebook groups.

We continue to have our weekly themes to work through the end of the alphabet and en-courage learning skills such as cutting, following directions and conducting science experiments.

We are planning a drive-through event the last week of May to tie up the loose ends and send the children off for the year. - Sharon Vaas

MusicAs we gradually come back together for church, one of the biggest topics of concern is singing. According to some of the latest re-search, germs can be spread at a much faster rate and travel much farther when we are singing compared with when we are speaking. Social distancing requires us to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from each other, but singing sends particles through the air at least 15 feet, if not farther.

Of course, we are mon-itoring the new informa-tion and studies as quickly as they come in. Whenever we meet for church, even if we are in our cars, it will be of utmost importance to wear masks for the protection of everyone around us. It is not fun and slightly uncomfort-able, but necessary as we slowly begin to come back together.

Since it will be a while before we can sing as we are used to, music will continue - just with adjust-ments and creativity.- Brent Neuenschwander

Celebrating volunteersWe want to thank the many people who make our church “happen.”As we look forward to Pentecost and cele-brating the birth of the church, let’s begin a summer of celebrating one another’s contribu-tions to our church’s ministry. You can help us recognize all the gifts we are blessed with by helping us “fi nd” the “helpers” among us. As no task or assistance is too small, most of the time these people go unnoticed. Just send in your nominee’s name with specifi c reasons why they deserve to be honored. Nom-inees should be non-paid volunteers. Mail your nomination to the church with Atten-tion to: CELEBRATE VOLUNTEERS, or drop off in the envelope provided on the bulletin board outside the church offi ce. You also can submit your nomination via email directed to info@fi ndlayfpc.org with subject line: CELEBRATE VOLUNTEERS. As our thanks may be personally given and/or publicly recognized, please check the appropri-ate line below and submit this sheet with your nomination: I think my nominee would be honored to be publicly recognized. I think my nominee would prefer to be quiet-ly thanked. In addition, please list your name (fi rst and last below) and check the appropriate box: I gladly give permission for the nominee to know of my submission. I prefer that my nomination of said person be anonymous.Thank you for helping us celebrate these indi-viduals.
