TRIDUUM 2019 The term “Holy Week” often references the Christian worship services that start on Palm Sunday and lead into the celebration of Christ’s resurrection on Easter Sunday. While few congregations join in worship each day of the week, many of us pause during the hectic pace of this week to focus on the story that leads from Jesus’ triumphant En-try on Palm Sunday through his betrayal on Maundy Thursday to his crucifixion on Good Friday. As Christians we know the story doesn’t end there. At Hope, we gather for the Triduum, the Great Three Days of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. These are not three separate worship services, but one con-tinuous worship experience over the course of three days. You are invited to experience the stories of both expected and unexpected events. On Thursday we gather to remember Christ’s mandate to us: “Love one another as I have loved you.” The disciples gather for the Passover meal before following Jesus to the Garden of Gethsemane. On Friday we recall the words of the prophet Isaiah before rejoining the disciples and Jesus in the Garden. The drama unfolds with a trial, a crucifixion, and a stone sealing a tomb. But we know that is not the end of the story… PRELUDE Medley on the Cross

All who are present are invited to come forward and to kneel or stand around the altar to receive these gifts of God’s grace and forgiveness. The ushers will guide people forward. Gluten free wafers are available for those who desire them, just ask the server. Wine and grape juice are both available, the grape juice is the lighter color in the tray. Those who wish to receive a blessing rather than the elements may indicate so by crossing their arms across their chest. Once you have been served you are invited to return to your seat.
