Supply List

• 24mm Triangle Frame – Qty: 2o Patterns are also included for 20mm and 29 mm frames

• Size 11 Delicas – Qty: 1 gram or less per coloro Patterns use between 2 and 4 colors

• 4mm jump rings – Qty: 2 (maybe – depends on the orientationof the hole on your ear wires)

• Ear wire of your choice• Fireline – 6lb test• Size 11 or 12 beading needles

First…. I just love brick stitching Delicas on wire frames/forms/whatever you want to call them. And once I start making a pattern, I’m already daydreaming about other patterns, so you’re gonna get a bunch of them in this set of instructions!

So your first job is to go pick which pattern you want to work on first. I’ll wait here.

First row of brick stitch Thread up that needle and let’s get started! You’ll only need about 3 feet of thread to complete an earring. I usually use a little more than that (4 feet) because I don’t love working with a short thread at the end.

Pick up your first Delica. And holding your tail thread up, place the bead on one edge of the triangle frame. Pass the needle through the triangle frame, and then pass back up through the bead.

Checking your pattern to make sure you’re picking up the right color, pick up the next Delica and set it on the frame with the working thread pointed down. Pass the needle through the frame and back up through the bead to attach it.

Continue adding the first row of Delicas to the frame one at a time until you’ve completed the first row. Pat yourself on the back!

Second and subsequent rows of brick stitch

The first stitch of each row from here to the end will be picking up TWO beads. Only the first stitch.

Pick up the first two colors of the second row of your pattern, and then pass your needle under the second thread bridge connecting the first row of beads. (I distorted the triangle on the illustration so I could blow the beads up larger so you could see.)

The two beads will likely tilt towards each other. So instead of living with that, we’re going to make them sit up straight by circling through the two with our needle. So pass down through the bead on the edge, and then back up through the second bead. Now you can add more beads!

Then for the rest of the row, you’ll add one bead at a time. So pick up the next color Delica, and pass your needle under the thread bridge and then back up through the Delica. Repeat until the end of the row. Repeat these two steps (the first stitch with two beads, and then the remainder of the beads one bead at a time for the rest of th row) until you have gotten down to two beads at the tip of your triangle.

The last row! For that very tip bead at the end of the triangle, we’re not going to brick stitch it on. Instead, pick up the right color bead, and pass down through the other bead in the previous row. End off your threads by weaving through the beads.

Attach to ear wire The very last step is to attach it to your ear wire. You can either use a jump ring or two for extra dangle and to orient the triangle so it sits properly, or you may attach it directly to the ear wire. Here’s where I demonstrate that in the
