Trespa Panels
Trespa Meteon – a solid phenolic composite panel made up of layers of resin impregnated paper and an integrated decorative surface
Electron beamed cured clear acrylic resin filmed onto a pigmented or paper print decor layer and then pressed over layers of resin impregnated paper
The high temperature (approx. 300 F) and pressure (approx. 150X atmospheric) liquefies the phenolic resin in the paper and starts the thermoset curing process, resulting in a molded, solid, monolithic panel of high density, tensile strength and non-porosity

All systems are mounted over vertical oriented, painted aluminum hat and j-channels. All systems require an open air cavity behind the panels for air flow and water drainage. All systems mounted over a specified WRB.
Exposed Fastener – face fastened panels – can be used with all panel thicknesses. Fasteners are stainless steel mill finish or painted to match panel. Fasteners supplied by SFS.
Concealed Fastener – clip mounted to back side of panel and which hangs from horizontal rail mounted to vertical channels. Panel thickness must be at least 10mm.

FastenerFastener spacing is based upon:
- wind load design criteria- panel thickness
1 fastener hole per panel is tight, all others are over-sized
Fasteners into vertical channels by Axiom and require structural calc.

TS110 Exposed fastener systems
TS110DC – deep cavity system – to provide depth for insulation or design look
Horizontal girt
TS110-285 For NFPA285 compliance (>40’H), no change from standard 110 except for use of tested or equivalent WRB and air cavity to be no greater than 1”

Meteon Metallics
> Metallics have a directional colored surface
> Production direction of the panels must be taken into account when optimizing the panels
Design Freedom with Trespa MeteonRadiused Panels
There are technical guidelines for radiused panels:- 8mm thick panels, exposed fastener system- “plank” look – modules to be at least 2x longer than tall- fastener spacing is cut in half- tightest radius is approximately 14’
Mitered Corners
Design Freedom with Trespa Meteon
Technical guidelines:- 1/8” joint at miter- mitered panels to be no more than 3’L- fixed point of mitered panel to be at the miter, and panel will expand away from miter joint
Design Freedom with Trespa MeteonPanel Joints
Technical Guidelines:- no less than 3/8” open joint; some fabricators/installers prefer a default ½” joint- larger joints OK but will allow for
more water entry and a joint closure should be considered – painted metal or contrasting color of Meteon as pictured
Environment
Environmental Production Benefits of Trespa
Beneficial Processes
> Improving the whole production process
> Ensuring emissions and discharge are within acceptable limits
> Eliminating toxic and corrosive gases
> Improving reduction of waste, storage, and delay
> Organizing efficient delivery and optimum routes
Submittal Documentation – samples, literature, certificates
1. Submittal documents – first review www.trespa.com and trespa.info for downloads
2. Samples – send email for samples to [email protected]; standard samples are 3.5”x3.5” and are for color only; larger 12”x12” and some 24”x24” samples are available – inquire about availability thru email address
3. Literature – Meteon brochures, etc. – order using info.na email address

New Balcony brochure
Non-Standard Product Issues
1. Custom Colors – available for Unicolors and Metallics – 2500SF minimum order, physical sample is best way to request but can be done with Pantone, RAL, etc. color number. Lead time for custom color samples is 4-6 weeks. Production time for custom color, once approved, is same as standard, unless unusually large order. Custom prints for NW/NA decors is less likely – have to purchase an entire roll of printed paper – 110,000 SF
2. Non-standard finishes/textures or panel configurations – examples – duocolors, Matt finish on a non-standard NW, etc. – factory approval is required and there is a minimum order of 2500SF
To get factory approval for non-standards we need all the project information for our project database.
