Shirley was born Oct. 17, 1944, in McClusky, to Sam and Maggie (Faul) Bauer. Shirley graduated from McClusky High School in 1962 and attended nursing school in Bismarck. She was a nurse at St. Alexius Hospital for 41 years. She was an avid baseball fan, loved traveling and spending time with her friends.

Trees are one of the most precious and

important things in our life. They provide us Oxygen to breathe. Trees are very friendly to children. The significance or importance of trees is probably the most to children as compared to adults.

Children are provided with space for swings.

The wind blows through them. Children can hide behind their trunks in the game Hide and Seek.

Trees are in to have tea parties under. Trees are for kites to get caught in. Trees are to make cool shade in summer. Trees are to make no shade in winter. Trees are for apples to grow on, and

pears: Trees are to chop down and call, “Timber-

R-R!”

Trees make mothers say, “What a lovely picture to point!”

Trees make fathers say, “What a lot of leaves to take this fall!”

Trees are our best friends. They are also friendly to children . They give us timber and fruits. One can make houses in trees. Children are provided with space for swings. The wind blows through them. Children can hide behind trunks in the game Hide and Seek.

The grown ups can organize tea parties under them. Kites get caught in tree branches. Trees give us cool shade in summer. They keep us warm in winter by giving fuel. Mothers find trees good for painting lovely pictures. Fathers gather dry leaves in autumn.
