thought he will buy many toys, clothes, and finally be able to go to school. Zoinul took the bag in his lap and kept thinking. He was waiting for his father to come back and he didn’t know when he fell asleep. He was dreaming and he saw that he is on a rooftop. He walked towards the edge and began watching the cars on the streets. Suddenly he heard a beautiful voice calling him from behind, “Zoinul, I am your mother, how are you my son?” He was trying to walk towards her but his legs weren’t moving. He cried out and suddenly his legs slipped and he was falling down and his mother was crying and yelling, “Zoinul do not make mistakes… Zoinul do not make mistakes!”

He woke up and his eyes were filled with tears. It was night already and he was waiting for his father. When his father came home, Zoinul yelled: “Father! Father! Look what I found.” Zoinul opened the bag and his father was surprised. They were thinking what to do with this money. Zoinul told his father what he saw in his dream. His father took the bag and searched the pockets of the bag for something else. His father found some papers in one pocket. However, his father

couldn’t read the papers. So, they went to a shopkeeper and asked: “Can you read this note for us and is there any address?” The shopkeeper agreed to do so. After reading it, he replied “There is a phone number.” Zoinul’s father asked him to make a call to the number. “Hello who is it?” Zoinul’s father said: “I am Rahim, I am a rickshaw driver. I found a bag.” The person said: “Oh, thank goodness my bag is safe. Umm, by the way where do you live?” He said: “I live in a slum near Gulshan.” “Oh, ok I am coming to take my bag.” After a few minutes, the person came to take his bag. The person said: “Thank you for looking after my bag. What do you want from me? I will give you anything you want.” Zoinul’s father said: “I don’t need any money. I want my son to go to school.” The person laughed out loud and said: “Oh, that’s not a problem. Zoinul will go to school from tomorrow.” Zoinul was so happy and he remembered his beautiful mother from his dream. The next day, the person came to their house and took Zoinul to school. He also bought a uniform and a red school bag for him. Zoinul and his father lived happily ever after.

Zoinul the son of a poor family living in a slum is the son of a rickshaw driver. His mother died right after giving birth to him. His father told him that when someone dies, they become a star in the sky. He misses his mother so much that every night Zoinul would look up at the sky and try to find out if his mother is within the thousand stars.

Every day he would roam the streets with his friends and would see many rich kids buying toys and clothes. He would see other kids going to school wearing uniforms and carrying school bags. He would close his eyes and dream of himself going to school with a nice uniform and a red school bag.

One day he was walking alone in a narrow street and suddenly his eyes noticed a bag that was lying beside the road. No one was around, so he picked it up. Chewbacca, aka Chewy, my orangish-brown and white striped cat, is a total goofball. He is possibly the most curious cat I know. I sometimes spend hours sitting on my bed and watch him roam around my entire room, sniffing and obviously, chewing, everything. He especially loves chewing on wires and power cables. Obviously he’s the one I worry about the most.

I found Chewy lying under my car on Dhanmondi 12/a one day. He was a month old at the time, and only half alive. He definitely had pneumonia, and a lot of other problems. Obhoyoronno was a lifesaver. They helped me nurse that baby cat back to life. His head still bobs around when he moves and his coordination isn’t the best because he has brain damage. Yet he’s alive and he is about to turn six

months soon.The greatest thing about having

Chewy is that my two cats, Djarth and him, are the best pair I can imagine. These two are closer to me than blood brothers now. They fight, they play, they scratch me to death, and then they lie on my bed (in my spot) and hug each other and sleep.

Chewy is cuter this way. He still likes sleeping on my bed with me, and every night he crawls into any space next to me, curls up into a ball and falls asleep. When I am getting dressed for work, he follows me around from room to room, and when I try to leave, he tries to come with me. He definitely made his way into my heart, and I’ll bet if you saw him, you would fall for his charms too!

a Burst of CoLour in a tray of miLk

Whoever knew milk can do magic!

What you need• A tray• Food colouring• Milk• Liquid soap for washing dishes

What you need to doPour the milk into the tray to cover the bottom. Add five to six drops of food colouring to the milk at different spots. Put five drops of liquid soap onto the drop of food colouring and notice how the colour spreads throughout the tray. Use more food colouring and watch the show.

What’s happeningMilk contains fat. When liquid soap is added to the milk, the soap particles try to break down the fat molecules in it. While doing that, the soap causes the colours to scatter and causes bright patterns of different shades to form throughout the tray.

Everybody decorates their homes before a party or an invite these days. Question is, how do you make your decorations look different than the others? You funk it up! Here’s a cool way to make your balloons look special and add an extra sprinkle to your home.

You need• Balloons• Gold foil strips (available in gift

shops and wedding decoration stores)

• Liquid glue

• Small bowl• Thick paint brushWhat you need to do1. Blow the balloon.2. Pour a bit of glue into a small bowl.3. Dip the brush into the glue and

apply evenly on the lower part of the balloon.

4. Ask an adult to cut the strips into little pieces for you.

5. Sprinkle the pieces over the glued parts of the balloons until properly covered. Let it dry.
