@_TreeHouseClub_ What a year it has been for Tree House Club! Since starting in September 2016 we have seen many children come and some go, welcomed new staff into the team and had endless fun along the way. As we approach our first birthday, I thought I would share with you some highlights from the past academic year. It seems like an age ago since the children were busy rummaging through all the new toys, creating underwater creatures and competing in dance competitions back in September. It’s safe to say we’ve come a long way since then, expanding and now thriving, ensuring a safe and fun environment is at the heart of all we do. During the festive period there was a real buzz as the children rushed to get our Santa Clause ready before the real one came down the chimney! Soon after celebrating our New Year we looked at the Chinese New Year and which animals we were, as well as making Chinese lanterns to decorate the hall with. In the months that followed the start of 2017 we created a birthday wall (and haven’t missed a birthday party yet!) and a behaviour tree which I’m pleased to say continues to be a great incentive for the children with dozens of rewards given since. In February the Smedley Hall had the lingering scent of shaving foam as the children got creative with some art. The Easter period saw even more creativity and we celebrated ‘Shoe the World Day’ where we reflected how lucky we are to have basic possessions such as shoes and got our feet out! As the weather got nicer we spent a lot more time enjoying the outdoors, having many picnics, scavenger hunts and lots and lots of sport. In July we had our own stall at the summer fayre which the children put many hours into preparing. The Fayre was a great day with (literally) hundreds of children and adults trying to get the banana in the monkey’s mouth! With lots more exciting activities planned before we break up for summer, we intend to give the children the most enthralling run up to the holidays as they deserve! What a year it has been for Tree House Club!

Soon after celebrating our New Year we looked at the Chinese New Year and which animals we were, as well as making

Chinese lanterns to decorate the hall with.

The Easter period saw even more creativity and we celebrated ‘Shoe the World

Day’ where we reflected how lucky we are to have basic possessions such as shoes and got our feet out!

Hall Change

Since Tree House Club started last September it has been situated in the Smedley Hall.

As of September 2017 we will be located in the Davis Hall. This will enable us to increase our capacity as it is a larger hall, offer more resources during sessions and give us the flexibility to utilize the larger space for more activities. The Davis Hall is located by the kitchen which means we can offer a wider diversity of food and expand the choice of food available to the children.

During the summer holidays construction work will be undertaken to ensure that children are secure within the space and parents are able to pick up/drop off their children without having to go through the school from the main entrance. There will be fencing running down from the junior gates to the doors of the Davis Hall. There will be an intercom system (with camera) from the main gate which will enable staff to buzz parents onto the premises whilst knowing who is coming and going.

Inset Days

You may have heard that as of 06/09/17 we are offering childcare on inset days! To book a place for your child please complete and return a booking form at least two weeks prior to the session you would like to book. For more information you can pick up a letter from any Tree House Club member of staff. Our inset days promise to be full of fun for all ages with many workshops and activities to provide an action packed, creative extravaganza!

Plea for Donations

As we approach a new academic year it would be

great to see lots of new toys for the children to play with. Any number of toy donations are greatly appreciated and played with for hours on end. Therefore if you have any un-played-with toys, dressing up costumes, role play areas, crafts, literally everything is played with!

Padley Centre

You may be aware that we often sell left over food such as jacket potatoes and sandwiches to parents in order to raise money for the Padley Centre. I’m pleased to say since starting this earlier this year we have raised £26.56!

Twitter

We are nearing 100 followers on Twitter which is fantastic! Thank you to everyone that follows us and gets involved. If you would like to help us reach our target of 100 please follow @_TreeHouseClub_

Finally…

All of us at Tree House Club would like to wish our Y6 children who are leaving to start their new schools all the best! It won’t be the same without you.

I would like to thank all the parents and children for such a successful first year of Tree House Club! Reflecting back over the last year and seeing how far we’ve come makes me extremely excited to see what’s next… Roll on September 2017!
