1. Performed under local anesthesia in the office2. Ultrasound used to position the Venefit™ catheter into the
diseased vein3. Tiny catheter delivers radiofrequency energy to the vein wall
through small opening in skin4. Catheter is withdrawn, the vein wall is heated, causing the
collagen in the wall to shrink and the vein to close5. Once the diseased vein is closed, blood is re-routed to healthy
veins6. This allows Dr. Moore to treat the full length of a saphenous
(main trunk vein in the leg) vein (averaging 45 centimeters) in just 3-5 minutes
PROCEDURE
The Saphenous vein is the underlying cause of varicose veins in the majority of causes

1. Local anesthesia is used2. Tiny incisions are made (no need for
stitches)3. Larger visible varicose veins are
removed4. Bandage and/or compression
stocking worn for a short period
PROCEDURE

1. A tiny needle is used to inject a solution directly into the vein2. The solution irritates the lining of the vessel, causing it to swell
and stick together, and the blood to clot3. The body will absorb the treated vein4. Anywhere from one to several sclerotherapy sessions may be
needed for any vein region5. Medically prescribed compression stockings and/or bandages
may need to be worn for several days to several weeks6. In general, spider veins resolve in 3 - 6 weeks7. Larger varicose veins may take weeks to months to resolve

1. Almost all treatment sessions include a period of stocking wear or, occasionally, leg wraps
2. Extremely helpful in conservative therapy and symptom relief
3. Good compression is also essential in treating leg ulcers, a complication of advanced venous insufficiency
