The colour scheme that I want my music magazine to have is: pink, purple, white and black. The reason why I have decided to use these colours is because they're are feminine and contrast well with each other. The colour pink connotes: girly, soft, love, charm, romance etc. It may also convey playfulness or tenderness. This colour is commonly preferred by young girls to show that they tender and soft. Purple connotes: Royalty, peace, loyalty and magic. This shows that my target audience may carry or be attracted to these particular traits. The colour white connotes: Calmness, purity, clean, and innocence . If I will be using a black or dark purple background, I will need the colour of my fonts to be white as it will allow texts to be identifiable. Finally, I will be using the colour black in my music magazine as it will make the shades of pink and purple tone down and not look too childish. The colours on the contents page will be similar to the cover page as I want the theme to be consistent. The colour on the double page spread will also be bright pink and black. This is because it will be information on a girl band and will be reflecting their fashion sense.

I will be using a variety of font types in my music magazine. This is because I want different stories to be identified in different ways. For example, I want the font of my cover story and mast-head to be large and bold as the audience will be able to read it straight away. The cover story is the main selling point so it is important that it stands out. Additionally, the font of the cover-lines will be different to the font of the cover story as they are less important, however, still need to stand out. They will be much smaller and different cover-lines may be in different colours. The colour of the font for the masthead will be white or black depending on the background colour I chose. My magazine will contain fonts with italics as this is identified as feminine. The words ‘ contents page’ will be in bold and italics. This is because I want it stand out as it is telling my readers where the different stories are in the magazine. The title of the double page spread will also be bold and In italics as it is introducing the story. The first letter of the story will be in a larger font size to the rest as it gives it straight away catches the eye.

I will be using celebrity endorsement to make my cover story appealing. The reason why I will be using this feature is because it will attract my audience quickly and I will be selling the story of the celebrity. The cover story will be of me promoting an artist's new album and I will introduce the name of the album, its bests songs and when its out on the cover page. The main cover image will be of the celebrity and she will be giving direct address to the reader. The reason why I am using direct address is because it makes the magazine feel more personal to the reader. I want to ensure I am drawing in my target audience as best as possible.

The images I will be using in my music magazine will be ones that I will be taking myself. On the front cover, I will take an image of a teenage girl (artist) dressed in a fur coat, tube top, midi skirt, jewellery (big earrings) and high heels. The reason why she will be dressed in this attire is because I am trying to convey the fashion that young girls idol and also shows femininity. The other images on the front cover will be of other celebrities and fashion items(clothes, shoes etc.). This is because I am advertising other stories as well as the cover story. Additionally, the images on the contacts page will be of celebrities and other information. The largest image on the contents page will be a different image of the same girl on the front cover which will have anchorage text underneath or above indicating what the story is about and the page. There will be smaller images of other stories to make the magazine more appealing to the audience and give them more to look at.
