Travelport Smartpoint is an evolutionary point of sales system that is redefining selling experience for our agency subscribers and travel management companies. This award-winning desktop technology offers smart thinking features, tools and timely updates that helps to sell more travel, work faster and be more efficient; so, agency staff can spend valuable time with their customers to create the perfect travel experience.

Smartpoint provides a perfect interface between Travel providers and our subscribers by offering a wide range of travel choices to book from (over 400+ network airlines and low-cost carriers) in the same response and 240+ airlines currently showcasing their branded fares, promotional offers & ancillaries. With improvements in the pre-booking seat map response, Smartpoint also offers Airlines the ability to make ‘tailored offers’ to Agencies to help further differentiate and market their products and services.

In terms of increasing hospitality business and hotel attachment rates, this smart thinking desktop provides public rates of more than 650,000 unique hotel properties. More than 35,000 car rental locations can be booked, to choose the perfect vehicle that suits customer’s itinerary and offers travel consultants the independence within the same booking workflow to manage high levels of services.

It’s user-friendly GUI style is designed to reduce key-strokes and minimize training times. Most recently the integration of Travelport Marketplace which is an online e-commerce platform where 3rd party developers and Travelport market solutions to travel agencies worldwide provides insightful booking work-flows and authorize Galileo subscribers to quickly upgrade to the latest release of Smartpoint simultaneously.

Overview Rich Content and Branding evolves the way that travel agents view airlines products and services. RCB is one of the components of

Merchandising Suite to support Airlines to promote their fare brands to Agency Commerce customers

Today airlines are displayed as a 2-letter code on the travel agents screen, with

Rich Content and Branding airlines are NOW able to showcase their value and

differentiating features and services, whilst promoting their fare products, flight

attributes and ancillaries

Overview Ancillaries are the non-ticket items sold by an airline. Some examples of airline ancillaries include baggage fees, seat upgrades,

lounge access, priority boarding, Wi-Fi and on-board food and services.

Ancillaries form part of the Travelport Merchandising Platform, which is a range of tools and products that empower travel

agents to provide a true consulting service by all bringing content offered by airlines directly to their agency desktop.

Being able to sell ancillary services in the travel agents workflow enhances customer service by offering business and leisure

travelers extended choice and flexibility without impacting on the travel agencies processes and efficiency.

Features Travelport provides the option for travel agents to book ancillaries within their workflow.

By simply clicking on the shopping trolley, all the relevant ancillaries offered by the airline on each booked segment are displayed

in a simple to use graphical format with pricing and any necessary instructions.

Overview Rapid Reprice is a simple tool for ticket exchange. It automates the whole process of reissue starting from calculating the difference

in fare between the old and the new ticket, adding the change fees if any, ending with issuing the new ticket and the EMD if

applicable. Rapid Reprice depends on the airline data filed in Category 31 in ATPCO, and requires carriers’ participation to the

product.

An updated list of participant carriers (70+) can be found on ASK - AN 6047

Features Rapid Reprice compares the fare between the old ticket the agent needs to exchange (unused or partially used), with the new

fare that would be applicable to the change the customer is making, which could be change the date of travel or the destination.

Based on the airline data filed in ATPCO, Rapid Reprice calculate the change fees needed to be collected, still the agent needs

to specify if the fees will be collected as a tax, as EMD or any other option

Rapid Reprice can be used for multiple passenger with different descriptions in the same time (e.g. Adult and Child), also in case

of different airlines in the same ticket provided that all of them are participant carriers

Editable Taxes enhancement to allow users to add or delete taxes and ignore residual ones.

Display and process separately Change Fee and VAT when fee is collected on an EMD-S or other

in the manual exchange process, as the system do the calculation and

the whole process of filling the new fare and issuing the new ticket.

As all data are filed by airline, the agent is sure that the information he

is getting is correct.

previous one was repriced by Travelport Rapid Reprice but ticketed

outside the application

Overview GEM is a manual ticket exchange product, available in 35+ countries, developed by CEE Travel Systems. It simplifies the whole ticket

exchange process for Galileo users in graphical interface much quicker and more efficient; where travel agents don’t need to use

cryptic entries, so agents can save money on training agents. It can be installed as desktop companion application and accessible

through button (GEM) in the Galileo Desktop and Smartpoint toolbar. GEM makes the whole ticket exchange process much quicker

and more efficient.

Features Agents can reissue tickets in a few click steps as follows:

1. Select tickets for Exchange/Reissue

2. Calculate new fare and compare with the original ticket

3. Set commission and penalties

4. Use exchange mask

5. Use copy of ticket mask for other passengers of the same PTC (passenger type code)

6. Generate new ticket

GEM is a complementary solution to Travelport Rapid Reprice, in all these cases, where agent interference is necessary, for example

when:

Airlines are not coding ATPCO Category 31 / not participating in RR

For involuntary rebooking / rerouting

Group Fares not loaded into the system

Addition to fare as Q surcharge

Group PNRs

Graphical interface is very user-friendly and intuitive web environment, so there is no need for specific lengthy trainings

Advantages As a web-based application all updates are automatic

GEM recalculates the whole journey both before and after departure, even for partly used tickets, and stores the Filed Fare

GEM checks the passenger name with the name shown on the original ticket

Agents can get a breakdown of the paid tax

GEM Compares originally paid taxes with the new taxes and collects the difference

Agents can reduce the number of ADMs issued by carriers for incorrect calculations and exchange processes

Overview Global Refund Manager is a tool that will make refunds easier and more user-friendly for our travel agency customers. It only

takes 3 easy steps by using graphical interface, so travel agents don’t need to use cryptic entries. Global Refund Manager makes

the whole process much quicker and more efficient. Moreover, it helps to reduce training time for travel consultant, this solution

is also available in 35+ countries, developed by CEE Travel Systems. The agents can access Global Refund Manager through simply

type the #GRM entry in your Smartpoint window.

GRM is a web-based application, any updates will be automatically available to always use the most enhanced version.

Features Agents can refund tickets in a just three click/steps as follows:

1. Ticket search

2. Refund mask

3. Refund confirmation

GRM is checking the linkage (whether all devices are up)

This is necessary for finishing the refund process and printing the refund notice. If the itinerary printer is down, GRM can

change it to be up again

GRM is checking the coupon status and continues only when the status is OPEN or ARPT

Agent can easily open GRM in Smartpoint through the #GRM entry

Advantages As a web-based application all updates are automatic:

Agent don’t need to open the PNR. GRM shows all paid taxes from both

(all) tickets, i.e. the originally paid taxes plus the additionally collected

difference

If the PNR still exists and even if the segments have been already

cancelled, GRM can take all the necessary ticketing data (especially all

taxes) from the Filed Fare History and add them to the refund mask

Benefits Easy access, easy updates, save training time and money

Very useful in case of the second or subsequent exchange or reissue

If the ticket is refunded in a different office (PCC) than where the ticket has been issued, GRM shows you a warning and

the refund process must be ignored (cancelled)

Overview Best Buy Plus (BBP) is a tool developed exclusively for Galileo and Worldspan customers to monitor their bookings and compare

fares on un-ticketed PNRs based on a pre-determined criterion. The service then sends an email/report when a lower fare is

available that was not there when they were making the original booking.

Note: BBP does not perform an auto-rebook of the new suggested fare as this is up to the agent

Features BBP continuously reviews un-ticketed PNRs on the agent PCC,

compares the filed fare stored by the agent to the fares

currently available on the sane flight.

If a lower fare is found, BBP sends an e mail to the e mail

address specified by the agent, with the new fare and the

saving that can be made if the agent makes the change.

In addition, BBP sends a report at the end of each working day,

also monthly reports with the full month activity.

BBP can also review ticketed PNRs in the same date of ticketing

and include it in the report if saving found

Not only at the time of booking, but also after they end the

booking as the system will keep looking on the same flights

Also advises the agent once a lower fare is available, which can

Agency Private Fares is an impressive web-based solution for private fare management and distribution. Agents who have a need to create, maintain and control their own database of negotiated fares, APF allows these agents to manage, mark-up/mark-down and control the onward distribution of fare tariffs and rules.

Features Complex private fares contracts including multi-airline, multi-class, round the world (RTW), multi-booking exception code,

code share, air-passes, stopover and transfer restrictions, Add-on fares, ticketing data, and a history of changes, etc.

Contracts for adult, child, infant, youth, senior, seamen, RTW PTCs and many others Support of net and selling-level fares

and net remit schemes.

Distribution of fares within an agency, but also to any other Travelport agencies that uses Agency Private Fares and have

appropriate permissions to access those distributed fares.

The ability to differentiate between authority to sell the contract fares and/or ticket the contract fares

Overview The SmartWorkflow is the suite of plug-ins, built and implemented for the express use on Galileo system via Smartpoint only.

For an agency to take complete advantage of the solutions they would need to have a high level of Smartpoint adoption, or they would not see the benefit. To make Galileo bookings live is the regular practice of users that helps our subscribers to avoid the time delay and administration of un-purge PNR’s, when any queries arise after the purge date, so the most frequently used cryptic command is RT. T /DATE*KEEP BOOKING LIVE

However, manually calculating the date to add RT. T line in each PNR is quite resource-intensive task and may cause inaccuracies. Therefore, our Travelport Solution Consultancy (AFMESA) focused to improve this lengthy part and introduced Auto PNR Retention plug in, that automates this time consuming process during PNR generation and increase user’s efficiencies.

Overview Some of our valuable airlines partners in Middle East region, announced the mandatory requirement to specify the date of birth for the CHILD and INFANT in the endorsement box on the ticket. If agents will not perform it, they may receive an ADM (Agency Debit Memo) from the specific airlines i.e. Saudi Arabian Airline (SV) and Middle East Airline (ME).

The Child DOB Auto Entry is plug in to follow Airline rules to insert date of birth at the beginning of endorsement box to comfort Galileo subscribers avoiding any ADM that occurs by overlooking such actions.
