Hi everyone, This is your home learning timetable for this week. Please complete any work in your Home Learning Book. Don’t

worry if you can’t print things out at the moment, take photos or let us know what you’ve been up to by email if

that’s easier.

Maths Reading

Writing and Phonics Don’t forget to spot or talk about capital letters, finger

spaces, phonics and full stops!

Wider Curriculum We’re going to learn about some different artists this week!

Monday

Number Bonds to 10

First, watch this number bond song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lD9tjBUi

Xs0 and join in if you can!

Activity:

You will need: two fingers, (or even 10!),

paint in two different colours, and the finger

print ten frame sheet provided (or make your

own).

Can you find all the different pairs of

numbers that make 10?

Use two different colours to show each

number in the pair, for example you might

do 2 red finger prints and 8 green finger

prints.

Record the number pairs in the bubbles

beneath each frame.

Read one of

your books on

Bug Club or one

of your favourite

books or

magazines to an

adult.

AND

Listen to a story

read by one of

your adults OR a

story online, e.g.

Oxford Owls,

CBeebies

Bedtime stories.

OR

Practise some of

your high

frequency or

tricky words

(Practical ideas

on the class

blog)

Don’t forget

you’ve also got

your ‘Teach Your

Monsters to

Read’ to have a

go at.

Watch Grandad’s Island here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqDtPXeV7cU

Did you enjoy the story? I hope so, it’s one

of my new favourites!

What would you take in your backpack to

Grandad’s island?

Draw a picture of the things you would take

and label each one. Remember to pinch

the sounds and write them down.

Use your Read Write Inc. Phonic mat to help

with your letter formation.

Where in the World?

Look at a map or globe and discuss where you live and where

you have travelled to. Can you find those places on a map?

Use Google Earth to explore the world! Have you ever

travelled to another country? How did you get there?

Tuesday

Note to parents – please look ahead at this

afternoon’s Wider curriculum activity. You may

want to get ahead and paint your oceans

sometime during the morning.

Takeaway Towers

Build a tower about 20

bricks/blocks tall. Roll

a dice and take that

many blocks away.

This game is great fun

when playing against someone else! Who

can get rid of all their blocks first? You must

roll the correct number to get rid of your

blocks, so if you have one block left, you

must roll a 1!

Can you record some of your subtraction

sentences, so if you start with 20 blocks and

roll a 5 your first subtraction sentence would

be:

20 – 5 = 15

What can you see on Grandad;s island?

Listen to the story again if you want to,

paying close attention to the pictures and

make a list of everything you spotted!

Island Adeventures

Did you know England, Scotland and Wales form Great

Britain, which is an island? Have a go at making your own

island. It might be like the one Grandad and Syd sail to, but it

doesn’t have to be! Follow the link for some pictures and

information about some of the world’s most remote islands:

https://www.roughmaps.com/destinations/the-50-most-remote-islands-in-the-world/

Activity: Paint a piece of paper, card, a box or a paper plate

blue like the ocean. While it dries explore the house and

outside for natural materials like grass or moss, sand, small

parts or dry food items that you can add to your ocean to

create an island. You could even add

some animals or people if you want to and

create your own island story.

Get creative and have fun!

Wednesday

Number Bonds in a Spin

Make a numbers to 10 spinner or follow this

link for an interactive spinner:

https://wordwall.net/resource/49009/maths/r

andom-number-wheel-1-10

Spin the spinner!

What number has it landed on? Can you

say the number that is needed to make 10?

Write down the number sentence to match

for example, if the spinner landed on 4, you

would write the number bond:

4 + 6 = 10

In the story, Grandad and Syd sail to an

island, but where would you sail to if you

had a boat?

Draw a picture of where you would sail to in

your boat.

Write a sentence or two about where you

are going, what the journey is like and what

you see when you finally arrive!

You could even write a little story about

your exciting adventure and record it for our

blog.

In the story Grandad and Syd make a very cool shelter, with a

bit of help from some animal friends!

Can you design and make a shelter for Grandad and Syd?

Feel free to make it as big or small as you like and use

anything from building blocks or duplo/lego to craft materials,

sticks or tables, cushions and bed sheets!

Talk about your construction. Did you stick to your design?

Did you change anything? What went well? What would you

change if you made it again? What do you like about your

creation?

Don’t forget to send us pictures of your creation!

Thursday

Addition and Subtraction fact families

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/number-

facts/number-fact-families

Follow the link and choose addition or

subtraction to 10 or 20, depending on your

confidence.

Use counting objects or coins to help you to

decide where each number belongs in the

number sentence.

Syd obviously really likes spending time with

his Grandad. Can you write a letter or make

a card for someone who you like to spend

time with? What special message will you

write inside?

What a wonderful world!

Syd and Grandad see new wonders everywhere they turn on

the Island!

Look at the pictures of the wonderful but different places

around the world and talk about ways in which they are

similar/different. The pictures can be found on the FS2 blog. If

you want to, you could print them off and group them in

different ways. Talk about how you have sorted them.

Extra activity: Draw or paint a picture of somewhere you have

been that is different to where you live.

Friday

Fun Fridays! We’ve spent the week learning about some different artists and you have become artists yourselves!

Have a look on The Tate Website and choose one of the activities to have a go at – there are loads of things to do and make on there!

You could even make your own art gallery to display all of the art you have created this week and previously – could you make tickets for your family to enter your gallery, descriptions to describe your

pieces of art or a shop to buy souvenirs?
