A RECOMMENDATION The infrastructure and expertise at WorldGUEST cannot be matched. I personally traveled with this organization to Cuba as a paying participant to get a firsthand experience in 2008. We have offered 9 departures since that experience, and every evaluation has been consistent in praising Tony and Vic for their excellent service and attention to detail. We cannot fathom traveling to Cuba without them. Cuba stands to offer you an incredible educational and humanitarian journey but it is critical you select someone that brings a solid history of established positive relationships within this country. I haven’t found anyone that tops WorldGUEST in this regard. H avana, in its faded glamour, was once known as the “Paris of the Carib-

bean”, now a shadow of its former prestige. A world where time is held captive – poised between the past and the future in a place where anything is possible.

Our program allows access to the preserva-tion efforts to preserve some of Cuba’s finest architectural heritage in Havana and Trinidad de Cuba.

The Cuban people are proud of their inter-twined European and Afro-Cuban cultures exhibited in food, music and religion; all meld into an infectious blend, as the Cuban’s say, a “ajiaco”; the traditional stew where everyone contributes and it is always being reinvented.

Examining Cuba’s efforts to preserve its na-tional heritage of the colonial and modern periods we include a masterpiece of post-Revolutionary architectural, the campus of the Superior Arts Institute (ISA); some ex-traordinary murals within Havana and ele-ments of interior design.

Meeting and interacting with professionals involved with restoration and urban planning will give you unusual access to the goals and politics involved in preserving Cuba’s heri-tage in Havana and Trinidad de Cuba.
