COMMUNICATION TOOLS

So many TRP incentives. It boggles the

mind!

plan to be communicated on a quarterly basis.

Approximately 95% of TRP employers

have bulletin boards as a communication

method in their plan.

KEEP IT VISIBLE

Low Tech Methods: • Payroll stuffers – inexpensive to create, pick interesting

topics.

• Messages on paychecks – great way to catch attention on take home materials.

• Memos – similar to stuffers but would come from TCs or managers to foster support.

• Newsletters – fun and eye-catching way to stir interest.

• Employee meetings – how do you promote in advance, agendas, roster of attendees.

Medium Tech Methods:

• Emails – no need to send everything such as weekly air quality forecasts, etc. Less is more in this case.

• Bulletin boards – easy to maintain, change up at least every six months to reduce “stagnant” feel, create fun way to make it stand out. Think about what must be on there – TRP incentives memo, Guaranteed Ride Home poster/policy, zip map, etc.

High tech methods:

• Web pages – Intranet and Internet. Make sure you’ve relayed all pertinent information for upload to sites.

• Message systems – some companies use electronic boards to relay information or overhead announcements via intercom.

• Custom sub sites through Valley Metro – less paper, makes participants take more ownership of choices and tracking.
