Installations

The factory, of 20,000 m2, located in Turís (Valencia), undertakes the whole process of design and production in glass. Grupo

Cerviglas offers projects made to measure for all types of constructions.

A recently constructed modern building houses the latest generation infrastructure

and technology and an exhibition of the latest developments in glass applications.

Used since the beginnings of history and symbol of architectural modernity since the 19th century, glass is a

valuable material that has gained a leading role, both in interior decoration and contemporary architecture.

Its infinite functional and aesthetic possibilities offer complete solutions for all kinds of projects. Associated with values

such as light, space, comfort, naturalness, safety, elegance or energy saving, glass is fashionable and present in the most

avant-garde designs.

Design protection comfort

Glass, as a noble material, possesses unique qualities that make it a product of infinite possibilities, lasting and easy to maintain. Capable of transforming spaces, it combines perfectly with other noble materials, such as wood, metal or stone.

Grupo Cerviglas is committed to design and provides a touch of distinction to each of its projects. Notable in the field of interior decoration are the varnished glass, silkscreen and digital printing, which, thanks to an infinite range of colours and the possibility of creating exclusive designs, offer interesting possibilities for spaces in which they feature. Pioneers in decorative laminated glass, an advisory service is available to achieve the best results.

Design

One of the principle properties of glass is safety; the capacity it offers for protection against any outside aggression, or even in case of breakage.

To answer to the different demands on the material, we can find tempered glass (Securit) and laminated glass (Stadip).

Securit glass offers great mechanical resistance, which, in case of breakage, disintegrates into small, blunt pieces.

Stadip glass is a safety product composed of two or more sheets joined by plates of PVB or EVA which, in case of breakage, retain the fragments of glass.

This type of product is mainly used in doors, screens, banisters, partitions, treadable surfaces, etc.

Protection

The solar radiation that reaches glazing does so in the form of electromagnetic waves of different length; that is, ultraviolet, visible and infrared radiation. Of the total solar energy that bears on a glazed surface, part is transmitted directly through the glass in the form of visible light (TL) or heat (TE), another part is rejected by reflection (R) and the rest of the energy is absorbed by the mass of the glass (A) to be subsequently radiated in the form of heat to the exterior (Ae) or the interior (Ai) of the premises.

Solar factor or g value:The solar factor of glazing is the relation between the total energy entering the premises through the glass and the incident solar energy. The total energy that enters the premises is composed of the energy directly transmitted plus the part absorbed and radiated to the interior by the glass (Ai). The solar factor tells us what percentage of incident solar energy passes to the premises through the glazing. The lower the “g value”, the better the protection against solar energy will be (protection against overheating)

Selectivity:Selectivity (s=TL/FS) is the relation between transmitted light (TL) and the solar factor. The higher the selectivity, the more “selective” the glass will be - that is, it will allow more light to pass without allowing more heat to pass.

U value – Heat transference:The heat transfer coefficient, or U value, is calculated according to UNE EN 673 and designates the heat transference through the central part of the glazing when a difference of temperature exists between both sides. The smaller the U value, the better the thermal insulation, with less energy dissipated through the glass.
