Transnet ‘s vision is to be a meaningful contributor towards the South African Government’s objectives of furthering empowerment of previously disadvantaged individuals, sustainably developing local industry and improving skills to support localization and industrialization objectives.
Transnet’s mission is to transform its supplier base by engaging in targeted SD initiatives to support localization and industrialization whilst providing meaningful opportunities for black South Africans with particular emphasis on:

• Rural integration
This will be achieved through applying creative approaches to procurement and influencing strategic partners to enhance the capability, capacity and efficiency of local suppliers.

NOTICES OF ACCEPTANCE AND NON-ACCEPTANCE OF BIDS TO BE FINALISED
� As soon as possible after approval to award a contract has been received, the OD whichinvited the Bids shall arrange to inform the Successful or Preferred Bidder(s) of theacceptance of their Bid.
Unsuccessful Bidders are advised in writing of the name of the Successful Bidder. Onaward of business to the Successful Bidder all unsuccessful Bidders are informed of thereason as to why their Bids had been unsuccessful, e.g. price, delivery period, Quality,SD, preference or any other applicable reason.
� Request for quotation (purchase orders) contains a clause that if confirmation is not received from TNPA within sixty days then the quote should be considered unsuccessful
