Due to the current economic climate, the landlords of the Transit Lounge Building have gone into foreclosure and the building will be taken by the bank in June. William Edwards, the owner of Transit Lounge states: "I am deeply saddened that it has come down to this. We fought a good fight but the banks just aren't lending and the landlords did the best they could but the writing is on the wall." "We hope to celebrate nearly a decade of Transit Lounge with the biggest events and parties that Transit has ever hosted and look forward to a thriving live music culture in Miami." Transit Lounge will continue with normal business hours and plans to throw a series of concerts and events for the next few months. National and local acts will be featured and the lineup will be updated on the Transit Lounge website as new artists are announced. To celebrate almost a decade of live music and entertainment, Transit Lounge will be hosting an event at the end of June, 2011 to say goodbye to their loyal customers and showcase local bands that have made the club a success over the years. Transit Lounge would like to thank every patron, musician, and artist that has supported the venue and hopes to see them all in the next few months as they party until the very last beer is sold. Transit Lounge is a bar and venue located on Brickell at 729 sw 1st Avenue, Miami, FL. Transit is known for its live music and entertainment all week long including performances by local and national bands. The bar is known as an unpretentious hang out spot for locals to have a good time.
