What are the ways that must
be done towards
transformation?
1. Standards- What should the students
be learning?
-deeper understanding, collaboration, integration of real-world problems and development of 21st century skills.
2. Assessment- It is the measurement of how well
the students are in an area.
Samples of assessments:• Extended student essays
• Observation rubrics on a teacher’s handheld device
• Online instant polls, quizzes, voting, and blog commentaries
• Progress tracked in solving online simulation challenges and design problems
• Portfolio evaluations of current project work and mid project reviews
• peer- and self-evaluations to project work judged by evaluation rubrics
3. Curriculum and Instruction- What are the ways of teaching?
- hands-on labs, interactive computer-
based activities,
video-based mini lectures,
etc.
4. Professional Development- In order to be effective 21st century teachers, they must have the knowledge and skills.
5. Learning Environments- includes educational use of space and time and technology.
a. Learning space and time
- learning can be done anytime anywhere.
b. Learning with Technology- learning
environment with wide variety of digital tools.
