Metallurgy for Non Metallurgists
Discover the world of metals, what they are and where they are used
Become familiar with the language of metallurgy
Learn the difference between carbon steels and alloy steels
Understand the fundamentals of heat treatment why it’s used and what benefits
it provides
Find out how metals are strengthened and shaped to provide a wide range of
industrial components from sheet metal to forged shafts
Develop a knowledge of mechanical behaviour of metals and the tests used to
determine mechanical properties
Understand how metals degrade in service and what inbuilt defects they
contain
