Competition for talents (1)Competition for talents (1)Data and facts of the labor marketData and facts of the labor market
The number of graduates from universities and technical colleges is declining altogether.
The number of students, in particular in technical subjects of the future, is not sufficient for meeting the overall economic demand:
there will be a shortage in young talented staff.
The share of the working population will drop considerably in the next ten years.
At the same time, the need for university graduates and the demands to be satisfied by future managers will be rising.
Job advertisements are no longer sufficient when it comes to attracting junior staff:
unusual and orginal recruitment initiatives by companies are required.

A large share of the graduates from technical universities and colleges are recruited by Siemens.
Only very few of the graduates applying for trainee jobs at RWE are engineers.
Contrary to the number of students in engineering courses, the demand for engineers continues to grow altogether.
Problem: Already at the beginning of the main course of studies, other companies conclude "preliminary agreements" with students.
Solution approach at RWE Net: Training plus Studies
