At the end of this module the trainee should be able to:

Edit the common adjacency optimization parameters for a

separate deletion or creation of adjacencies

Set the required parameters for the automatic measurement-

based adjacency optimization

Perform adjacency optimization

GSM Adjacency optimization

How can I start the measurement-based adjacency

optimization?

How can I

• find the unused (unnecessary) adjacencies (deletion

plan)?

• find the missing adjacencies (creation plan)?

Starting GSM Adjacency optimization

Only ADCEs selected for measurement-based GSM adjacency optimization

ARP,CIP or FEP interference types can be selected

• Check the retrieved IM sets and priorities

Common Parameters

Bidirectional optimization (recommended)

Creation and deletion of adjacencies into and out from scope allowed (recommended for small scopes)

Check maximum and minimum Adjacency List Lengths

Changes to adjacencies between frequency bands can be disabled

Frequency band specific list length settings can be enabled

Deletion Options for All Adjacency Types

Deleting outgoing adjacencies to foreign target cells can be allowed

Adjacencies without measurements will have 0 values for KPIs and are deleted

Deletion Parameters for ADCE

Bidirectional deletion requires at least one bad value in both directions

Additional conditions can be used to avoid deleting adjacencies in low traffic cells

Detailed Results on Deleted

Info column shows the creation/deletion reason

Include Change column defines the results to be saved in the plan

Saving the Results

The results must be saved to the plan

Save is possible only to the plan that is open when Adjacency optimization starts, or to a plan that is created after pressing Save

After the save the results can be listed to Browser or shown on the map

Exercise

Check and set Common parameters

Set Deletion parameters and start the optimization

• View the results and check different views in the Adjacency Browser

• Change parameters and run again

Save the results into your plan

Creation Options for All Adjacency Types

Creating BCCH and BCCH-BSIC collisions can be allowed if Frequency Optimization is done in the same plan

Normally BCCH or BCCH-BSIC collisions are not allowed

If there are existing collisions in the network no new adjacencies are created for those cells unless collisions are allowed
