“We believe in high expectations for excellence through providing STEM, visual and performing arts, athletic and co-curricular activities in a positive, safe and welcoming atmosphere.”
FOCUS PROGRAM STEM integration into public education is rooted in demands of the future workforce and the increasing importance of creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills.
At Trail Ridge Middle School, instructors receive the freedom and professional development necessary to integrate the STEM disciplines and the Design Thinking Model in a way that affords students access to real world, authentic learning. This approach supports students in solving social issues and becoming global citizens, preparing them for jobs and opportunities that await them upon college graduation.
ACADEMIC STANDARDSStudents at Trail Ridge benefit from over 70 minutes of daily instruction in each of the four core subjects of language arts, math, science and social studies. Advanced classes in these core sujects allow students to reach their greatest potential. In math, students have the option of accelerating into algebra and geometry before moving on to high school.
Our comprehensive elective offerings highlight the importance of the arts, especially in conjunction with STEM. On the arts performance side, opportunities include choir, orchestra, band and drama. Other electives, such as art, foreign language, music technology, physical education, robotics, technology and videography offer opportunities for students to build their skills and creativity.
Collaborative teams among instructors focus on individual student growth and help differentiate lessons to meet students’ academic, social and emotional needs.
