Pedestrian-Involved Crashes
Walk on sidewalks whenever they are available. If there is no sidewalk, walk facing traffic as far awayfrom traffic as possible. Be predictable by obeying signs and signals.
Keep alert at all times. Don’t be distracted by electronic devices that take your eyes and ears off ofthe road. Further, avoid alcohol and drugs which impair your abilities and judgement.
Be visible at all times. Wear bright clothing during the day, and wear reflective materials or use aflashlight at night. Never assume a driver sees you. Make eye contact as they approach to be sureyou are seen.
