WESTERN DISTRICTINTERNATIONAL DIRECTORThe 17 member International Board of Direction establishes policies for the operation of ITE as a whole. As International Director, it will be my responsibility to focus on the needs of the entire global transportation community. Leading this organization is a responsibility that I do not take lightly.

It is an honor to have been nominated as your representative from the Western District to the International Board of Direction. I hope to earn your confidence and your vote.

BACKGROUNDI have been in the transportation engineering profession for 32 years. During that time I have been employed by private firms, started my own engineering consulting business and most recently work at a public agency. These varied career experiences provide me a unique perspective on our field of engineering.

In addition to my engineering life, I have been married to my best friend for 31 years and have two sons aged 22 and 16. I enjoy cycling, automobile restoration and all forms of music. I have served in various positions in my local community as a Cub/Boy Scout Leader, Church Board Member, instructor and fundraiser at the local YMCA and as liaison between local businesses and Santa Barbara City College.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONSOne of my strengths is that I am able to communicate effectively with people. My broad engineering background and life experience has taught me valuable listening skills and the ability to take detailed information and make it user friendly. Some engineers prefer to not interact with the public but I thrive on it and enjoy it! With my technical engineering expertise, ITE leadership and community service experiences, I am confident discussing the wide range of issues facing the ITE Board.
