Russian national costume consists of kokoshnik, long white shirt with different patterns, a red sundress, an apron, sandals or boots.
MAIN FABRICS In ancient times women used hemp, linen and cotton to make clothes. Rich people used silk and velvet to decorate their dresses and shirts.
The national costume is not often dressed today. Girls wear it for national events, folk festivals, celebrations, etc.
Maslenitsa is a very popular ancient festival that is still celebrated all over the country. Girls and women like putting on bright traditional dresses.
