Performances by:
ShoeFly ShoeFly, from Dayton, OH, are old time song & dance . Rooted in the traditions of early country music, bluegrass and honky-tonk, ShoeFly is a lean & mean offshoot of the nationally acclaimed dance and music company, Rhythm In Shoes . An ensemble of dancers and musicians adding youth to experience, ShoeFly fills the stage with high-energy sight and sound, bringing a party wherever they go . For TAW ShoeFly will feature Rick Good, Sharon Leahy, Laura Lewis, Paul Kovac and Ben Cooper . They will be presenting dance, instrument & vocal workshops as well as a performance on Main Stage and a dance at Third Stage .
The Jack Videtich BandThe Jack Videtich Band from Hesperia, MI, will be playing for a polka dance Saturday evening on the Main Stage, 9:00-11:00 PM . Jack (piano accordion and button box accordion) has had a band for 42 years and is joined by Marie Videtich (keyboard and button box accordion), Bob Farkas (drummer) and Fred Zarzecki (banjo, guitar & button box accordion) .

• More louisiana Dances with Mark Stoltz and K . Jones & The Benzie Playboys – basic review of Cajun Two Step and Waltz with some extras to make you feel more comfortable . Then Basic Zydeco with some extra twists and turns and possibly some more Louisiana dances straight out of Southwest Louisiana .
• Beginning Salsa with Brian Grochowski – Puerto Rican style Salsa will be taught . Participants will learn the following steps: Salsa Basic, Cucaracha Step, Pivot Turns, Break Steps and how to do steps on your own or with a partner

• The Marley Hornpipe with Sheila Graziano – a set of twelve hornpipe steps, choreographed by the Marley family in the 1930s . Appropriate for intermediate-advanced level dancers . Art Workshops for Adults NEW for 2011: Art workshops will be first come, first served ...NO MORE PRE-REGISTRATION. For those workshops with limited enrollment, we suggest arriving up to 15 minutes early to increase your chances of securing a spot.
• Silk Scarf Painting with Linda McLachlan – using permanent dyes and a resist, participants will paint their original design on a scarf 12”x60” . A pattern is created first on butchers paper to use as a guide . If time allows, other designs could be made . This workshop is limited to 12 participants, teens & adults .
• Growing, Preserving & Using Herbs with Donna Hoff-Grambau – Participate in the flavorful world
of herbs . Participants will engage in learning tips, techniques and experiment with growing, preserving and using herbs . All five of your senses will be engaged in this workshop .
• Rug Weaving with Pat Miller – Using a rack participants will learn how to weave a potholder from rags . This workshop is limited to 10 students, teens & adults .
• Wool Felting with Vannie Shurtliff – participants will learn fundamental needle felting techniques . Beginning with prepared wool batting, participants will needle felt and create a small animal, such as a catnip mouse . Additional information covered will include discussion of different kinds of wools and how this technique can be applied to complete future projects . Class is limited to 15 adults .
• Reflexology with Georgette Ames – Reflexology is the practice of massaging or applying pressure to parts of the feet . It opens the nerve endings and allows blood to flow better, creating more oxygen in the blood . It is used to relieve tension and improve circulation . Participants will learn the ‘map’ of the feet w/pressure points as they correspond with different parts of the body .
• Bug Bite Balm with Bees Knees – come and join The Bee’s Knees in making a superb “after-bite” balm that will fit in a standard lip balm tube, for easy application . Using all natural oils, essential oil extracts, and our own locally harvested beeswax, we will instruct you on how to make this great Bug Bite Balm at home . Each participant will get a recipe to take home and a tube the balm we make on site! This workshop is limited to 40 participants, ages 10 & up, under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Bug Off lotion Workshop with Bees Knees - Join us in making a totally natural bug repelling lotion, just in time for mosquito season . We’ll show you, using all natural oils and pure essential oils, how to make a light, and effective Bug Off lotion . You will get a recipe to take home along with a bottle of the lotion we make! This workshop uses hot wax and oils and kitchen mixers . This workshop is limited to 25 older teen and adults, please . Younger teens with a parent is good, too
• Beginning Water Color with Carole Howard – participants will have the opportunity to learn the basic techniques of watercolor, including brush techniques, color blending and how to combine the brush, water, paper and paint for a magical experience . This workshop is limited to 15 participants, ages 12 & up .

• Ukulele Painting with Carole Howard – Problem: Wheatland has a bunch of untuneable, unplayable ukuleles . Solution: Get creative, grab a paintbrush, and make a lovely wall decoration! This workshop is limited to 12 adult participants .
• Dream Catchers for Families with Brenda Ritter - using grapevines, waxed line, beads and feathers participants will create a Great Lakes Region simple dream catcher . The Dream Catcher book will be read and the legend of dream catchers will be talked about . This workshop is limited to 10 families, on a first come basis, but will be repeated .
• Scrimshaw with Dan Lee – Scrimshaw is the art of carving or embellishment on ivory, antler or bone . Moose, elk and deer antlers, along with cow horns, are most commonly used . Scrimshaw—which literally translated means “while away” is accomplished by ‘scratching’ a drawing onto the source material with a sharp engraving tool . Then an application of India Ink is rubbed into the recessed lines and the excess is wiped away . This workshop is limited to 7 adults .
• Pine Needle Basket with Karen Hundt-Brown – weave a cute little penny basket and see how to work with Southern Pine needles in a traditional and ancient art form . Students will get their choice of thread color for their basket . Once you complete your basket you’ll be able to make all kinds of things out of pine needles like plates, bowls, and larger baskets . This workshop is limited to 20 teen and adult participants .
• Raspa with Karen Hundt-Brown – using gourds of various shapes participants will make a hand carved multicultural musical instrument that is played by scraping a stick over it . This workshop is limited to 20 teen and adult participants .
• Soap Making with Sharon Jones – participants will make a traditional cold process soap with variations of scent . Limited to 10 participants, teens and adults .

• Tie Dying with Amanda Jones and Judy Fogle – come and enjoy the art and creativity of tie-dye . Participants are asked to bring one article of clothing for dying . Participants 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult . Limited participation, first come, first served .
• Hair Wraps with Lauren & Denise Mitten – learn how to braid your hair and wrap the braided hair with a variety of colors of thread . This activity, made popular at southern & Caribbean resort towns, uses a combination of colorful thread, wraps & knots to create a unique expression of yourself .
