Since 1764 years it had been owned by King Stanislaus Augustus, who founded a faience factory. In the years 1818-1922, the palace was completely rebuilt at the request of Grand Duke Constantine by Jakub Kubicki (1758-1833). Behind the building stretched the English garden pavilions built in the twenties, which was probably

Mr. Kubicki’s design

Inherited in 1801 by the Działyński family, the Kornik Castle was rebuilt (1843-1861) in the neo-gothic style by the famous architect from not so far away Berlin - Karl Friedrich Schinkel. In 1880, the property was inherited by Władysław Zamoyski, who before his death had given the castle and the park to the Polish nation.

This exquisite theatre was opened in 1893. It's a miniature version of Charles Garnier's famous Paris Opera House. It's

virtually impossible to get in here during the day, but paying the very reasonable price of tickets, it's worth catching a

performance even if the show turns out to be unspectacular - the building itself certainly is spectacular -

an absolute treasure.
