Hello friends. Just when I think that baseball news will take over headlines here in the Country Trader, basketball has gone crazy with super men and women’s games. Speaking of good, Cumberland in Lebanon, the Vols, and Vandy have started on fire. My brother-in-law, former Panther baseball player, works Vandy games and says this young team will be there in the end again. I noticed Dewayne Alexander at Tech looking hard for big time players. Tennessee great football recruiting year. Western Kentucky now plays with the big boys. Belmont, Lipscomb, excellent in Winter sports. Gallatin High School and other baseball and softball teams out on the diamond. Lots of golfers hitting it early. I believe the super Trousdale County golden throat, The Cheese, is look-ing for a rematch with Sherlin. Soccer on the pro level will be played at Nissan until the new stadium is built. Sounds and Bowling Green Hot Rods ready for pro baseball. My good friend, Eric Montgomery, is now a pro fisherman. He formerly lead the nation in home runs for big time slow pitch softball. Preds will win one, then lose one. Look for changes to get pro hockey back on top in our area. Racing...you bet. At fairgrounds we will watch an abbreviated schedule and then watch for a big push for new race track. Nobody can tell me why we don’t use the nice one on the Wilson county line. Interstate runs right by there, plenty of parking. Rumored the gigantic Wilson County fairgrounds would build one. I think they do great, but are out of room for something that big?? We will watch these stories. Will young Lady Vols and young Tennessee men basketball teams mature in time for Tourney play?? Will Vandy get a new athletic director?? Bob Prichett thinks Kentucky is ready for tourney time. Still trying to get super grandson healthy for baseball. Will Miles Wanstrath take up fishing again? Can Charlie Goad pick the winners of Sec Tourney? Polly, thanks for tips on the hot bed of girls basketball in your part of Middle Tennessee. Allen County having great sports year. But, Scottsville, Allen County have been great since Jim McDaniels led them in roundball. Portland, Hendersonville, Westmoreland, Gallatin, Lebanon, Mt Juliet, White House, and more... thank you all for getting us on line and right here in your one and only County Trader. !!!Lady Vols best Vanderbilt.
