AD investigations in the EU
Anti-dumping measures have often been used by the EU industry against unfair imports of steel products.
The “protectionist” era against general types of HRC, CRC and GOES is clearly over, while new AD proceedings against specific (more narrowly defined products) are now very likely.
New AD initiations in the EU in the iron and steel sector have been declining in 2013.

Potential future trade-defense investigations against steel products from Asia, Russia and the US
Likely targets for new AD investigations in the EU:
• cold-rolled steel products originating in China and Taiwan (imports from India and Korea could also be included in order to avoid discrimination).
• electrical steel from Russia (US and Japan are also in the risk group?)
In other countries: • US is investigating imports of electrical steel from China, South Korea,
Japan, Russia, Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland. • Taiwan is investigating imports of cold-rolled steel from China and
South Korea. • Brazil imposed anti-dumping duties last year on imports of cold-rolled
steel from China, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Germany and Finland.
