Dedicated to adding value to our customers’ projects, we offer expert services and extensive experience in new track construction, track renewal, track maintenance, optimisation of existing track alignment and the manufacturing of switch and crossing (S&C) units. We work with various design systems such as ClearRoute, Bentley Rail Track Design and Microstation.

Our approach to stagework planning is considered from early concept through to detailed design. Involvement in the earliest stages of a project minimises delays and reduces additional costs, ensuring designs are compatible with the operational railway from the beginning of a project.

Design

Plain line and junction design for mainline, high-speed, light rail and metro. We also provide track solutions for drainage, track formation and UTXs.

Concept and feasibility studies

Alignment designs for line-speed improvement or re-alignment schemes.

Rail alignment, primary geometry and setting out details for track work

Setting out information to the installer, modified to suit project specific requirements.

Surveying

3D laser scanning, topographical surveys, detailed S&C surveys, structure and platform gauging and track condition surveys.

Clearances reporting and analysis

Detailed clearance reports for passing, line side structural equipment and infrastructure as well as detailed reporting of stepping triangles with station platforms.

Track form and track component design

For ballasted and non-ballasted applications, in particular where new or novel requirements are needed.

Stage work design for implementation

Staged installation of complex track schemes, working within constrained possession timescales while the railway is operational.

Track work design co-ordination

Liaison with other relevant functional disciplines throughout the design process.

Engineering project management

Requirements definition, overall scheme co-ordination and management of all interfaces within a multi-functional project.

Site investigation

Conduct and report on the existing ground and conditions including the assessment of infrastructure.
