I am pleased to welcome you all to the first edition of our periodical newsletter.

Indeed, the past quarter has been truly exciting and rewarding for our TRA family.

I am particularly proud of the collective efforts we’ve made to constantly challenge ourselves and improve our competences, which were recently recognised at the highest international level. Last April, the TRA was presented with the EFQM certificate for Commitment to Excellence, becoming the first organisation in Bahrain to ever receive such prestigious credit (page 4). I believe this honourable appreciation of the TRA’s quality services and regulatory framework will only motivate us to join forces and reach further milestones in our continuous journey to success.

I would also like to recall the 14th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-14), which was held recently at Gulf Hotel (page 9). This annual event is of great international importance and having hosted it in Bahrain marked a giant leap forward for the Kingdom’s position both on a regional and a global scale.

We couldn’t have made a better use of the past three months, with various creative projects and specialised staff training programmes (page 6), and I am assured that we can keep up this pace in order to maintain the TRA’s impeccable image as the model telecoms regulator.

ACHIEVEMENTS

TRA’S NEW WEBSITE IS LAUNCHEDThe TRA’s redesigned user-friendly website (www.tra.org.bh) has been launched last march and is now fully operational. The revamp was a necessary step for the regulator to become more accessible to stakeholders, operators and the general public, which is in line with the Authority’s key objectives and efforts to continue building on the successful dialogue. Designed in a responsive format, the website features a unique breadcrumbs navigation that significantly improves search results, and advanced filters to help users find documents easily. The new website is considered to be one of the regulator’s strategic elements in transparent communication with the community.

“SAFESURF” CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE CHILD SAFETYA nation-wide “Safe Surf” media campaign was launched by the TRA on September 29th, 2013, with the aim of making the Internet safer for youngsters, through spreading awareness among the parents and other caregivers about the benefits and potential dangers associated with online activities. The project is in line with the ongoing studies on Internet safety and TRA’s “State of the Nation Review of Internet Safety” report, which has shown generally low Internet security awareness in Bahrain. The campaign’s website (www.safesurf.bh) features relevant tips and tutorials, in addition to open forum where users can share their personal experiences with regards to the topic, and interact with the TRA.

TRA ACHIEVES EFQM FOR EXCELLENCEThe European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) has awarded the TRA with a certificate for EFQM Commitment to Excellence, in April this year, following

the Authority’s successful evaluation by the EFQM assessor. By becoming the first organisation in Bahrain to receive this outstanding recognition, the TRA demonstrated the irrefutable commitment it has to its mission. The Management would like to give full credit for this remarkable achievement to the collective effort and dedication of the TRA’s excellent cadres.


AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

THE BEST REGULATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD For the fourth time in a row, CommsMEA announced the TRA as the Best Regulator of the Year, during the eighth annual CommsMEA Awards, held on December 4th, 2013. This honour comes in acknowledgement of the regulator’s accomplishments in cultivating an environment that facilitates the constant flourishing of telecommunications sector in Bahrain. It has been a hard-earned win amongst the prominent rivals in the region, such as the TRA’s of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and Qatar’s Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology.

INDUSTRY RECOGNITION AWARD The TRA was the first regulator to ever participate in the Annual Customer Experience Management for Telecoms: Middle East Summit, held for the third time in Dubai on March 31st, 2014. The forum aims to equip delegates with the practical tools and first-hand experience needed to take CEM strategies to the next level. The Authority was honoured to receive the Industry Recognition Award, in recognition of its initiatives and achievements towards developing and improving consumer experience in the telecoms sector. International telecommunications companies attending this important community event have lauded the TRA for their extraordinary efforts.

TRA’S GENERAL DIRECTOR RECEIVES THE LEADING CEO FOR EXCELLENCE AWARDMr Mohamed bin Hamad Bubashait was pleased to receive the Leading CEO for Excellence award at the 11th Leading CEO awards ceremony, held by the Middle East Excellence Awards Institute (MEEAI) in Dubai. The award honours the leaders, decision-makers, executives, and institutions that have been able to bring about change and contribute to developing the modern standards of corporate governance. In the past 20 years, MEEAI has been conducting a research and field studies in the corridors of government and private institutions, based on the science of modern management and economic knowledge, with main focus on top achievements in various areas, such as technology, economy, finance, human resources, intellectual leadership, and creativity.

TRAININGSPROTOCOL AND BUSINESS ETIQUETTE WORKSHOP The TRA’s staff participated in a two-day workshop on “Protocol and Business Etiquette” last March, which was presented by Professor Mona Al Zayed, an Accredited Training Advisor from the UK-based Mackay Solution Company. During the workshop, the attendees were briefed on various topics regarding business protocol, including proper communication, courtesy and simplicity, stress management, and efficient use of the business card. Professor Al Zayed praised the staff’s positive interaction throughout the training.

“SAFESURF” FOR SCHOOLSAs part of its “SafeSurf” campaign, the TRA paid a visit to a number of different stage schools in Bahrain, delivering lectures on the online risks faced by students, and providing simple solutions to the problem. Mrs. Fatima Almahmeed, TRA’s Media Specialist and Ms. Mariam Almannai, TRA’s Cyber Safety Specialist, conducted the talks and presented short films illustrating the correct and safe way to use Internet.


INTERVIEWINTERVIEW WITH THE GENERAL DIRECTOR MOHAMED BIN HAMAD BUBASHAIT

What was your main focus when managing the TRA’s day-to-day operations in the last three years?

In the first year my aim was to develop the FOCUSED strategy, and in the following years I concentrated on ensuring consistent and constant execution of the TRA’s initiatives in line with the FOCUSED key objectives.

In your opinion, which of the TRA’s projects was most successful?

It’s hard to favour one project over another, as most key projects are interdependent plus working on each of them is really fun and challenging. However, if I were to highlight just one, I’d probably choose the LTE award process, which was a great success for us, despite all the challenges.

How have the TRA’s achievements reflected on the local and regional market?

TRA Bahrain prides itself as an exemplar in telecoms regulation in the region. In the last decade we’ve had numerous achievements that the Kingdom has benefited from. Liberalising the market has opened up opportunities by creating healthy competition within the telecoms sector. As a result, market penetration for mobile, broadband, and fixed line services have increased significantly since 2002. Number portability, as another example, has allowed more consumer mobility between operators without them having to lose their numbers.

How will Bahrain benefit from hosting the Global Symposium for Regulators this year?

By being selected to host the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-14) we have solidified Bahrain’s position among our international peers as a recognised achiever in ICT regulation. GSR-14 is a globally recognised event where professionals in industry come together to address the way forward in ICT. The TRA aspires to be elected for the ITU Council, and GSR-14 could be a deciding factor. As Council member, the Kingdom will be in a more significant position to contribute to a global, mutually beneficial future in ICT.

What are the long-term objectives in the TRA’s development framework?

National Broadband Network is the next big step forward for Bahrain’s telecoms ecosystem. The current copper-based network is more than forty years old and with the growing advancements in ICT and broadband infrastructure, the next natural step for Bahrain is to have a high-speed Internet based on fibre-optics technology. Studies suggest that there is a direct correlation between broadband speed and GDP growth, so we are keen on seeing this to fruition.

What part of your job do you enjoy the most?

People are the most important asset; therefore developing leaders is my main goal. Nurturing true leaders is a key priority for me and all TRA directors. I also strive to ensure that we consistently develop a culture of excellence that fosters innovation and growth on all levels.

TRA puts Bahrain on the map as GSR-14 host

GSR-14 : CAPITALISING ON THE POTENTIAL OF THE DIGITAL WORLD


The TRA has once again put the Kingdom of Bahrain on the map by securing an agreement to host the 14th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-14), recently held at Gulf Hotel under the Patronage of H.R.H. Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain and attended by H.R.H. Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. As the second GCC country to ever house this prestigious international event, the Kingdom has proven its status as a regional trendsetter in the telecommunications sector.

The TRA had formed a steering committee, led by the General Director Mr Mohamed bin Hamad Bubashait, with a mindset on raising the bar for the future GSR events and setting an example to follow for the regulators in the region. Furthermore, hosting GSR-14 created an excellent opportunity to put Bahrain in the

spotlight as a great tourist destination and a cultural centre, both regionally and internationally.

Organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in collaboration with the Government of Bahrain, the annual symposium was chaired by Dr Mohammed Al Amer, Chairman of the TRA, and brought together hundreds of participants from all over the world.

The forum’s predominant theme of “Capitalising on the potential of the digital world” had the attendees focus on the key telecommunications and regulatory developments in the interest of citizens worldwide. The policy makers, regulators, and industry leaders discussed possible ways to empower consumers and

enable the prosperous data-driven economy, in order to make the benefits of the digital world easily available on a global scale and in an informed and secure manner.

During the first two days of GSR-14, the sessions were open to regulators, policy makers, and ITU–D Sector Members, and addressed several key issues, including consumer empowerment and protection, opportunities and challenges of big data, and licensing framework, to name just a few.

The third and last day remained exclusive for regulators and policy makers, who discussed the possible techniques to improve regulatory efficiency through regulatory impact assessment, digital agendas implementation, new types of converged regulators, and ways to monitor broadband plan.

The symposium attendees were also able to share their views during two planned in-depth debates, first of which covered the subject of redefining responsibilities in a data-driven world, while the second touched on the broadband services in terms of meeting the demand for capacity.

As the TRA strongly supports such initiatives, that are vital in paving the way towards better regulatory work and consumer empowerment in telecoms markets, it is honoured to have played an active role in this year’s GSR event, which aims to bring about the best solutions and practice guidelines for the regulators and other participants alike.

IT EXPO – BAHRAIN INTERNATIONAL EGOVERNMENT FORUM 2014During the two-day IT Expo, held on the sidelines of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2014, the TRA presented its services that focus on development of a competition-led market for the provision of widely available innovative telecommunications services, which encourages sustainable, economically efficient investment, respects the interests of consumers, fosters ecologically friendly initiatives, and supports the social and commercial welfare of the Kingdom of Bahrain. 16TH ANNUAL CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH – “KICK FOR A CAUSE”The TRA took part in the 16th Annual Charity Football match, hosted by the Rugby Club on 18th of April 2014, where organisations from all across the Kingdom competed against each other under the “Kick for a Cause” banner. Over BHD 20,000 were raised in the name of fighting the deadly sickle cell disease and other inherited diseases that affect the children in Bahrain. “The competition was stiff, and we did all we could, but the best team won in the end,” said the TRA Team Captain Ghazi Al Husaini, “We’re all out here to support a good cause. The unfortunate children of Bahrain who have to live with these illnesses are today’s real winners.”

THE TRA PARTNERS WITH SILAH GULF FOR ITS NEW CALL CENTER The TRA has signed a two-year contract with Silah Gulf with the aim of providing response services on 81188 for consumers’ inquires and complaints related to telecommunications services and providers. On this occasion, the TRA’s Director of Finance and HR Mr. Faisal bin Ali Aljalahma said, “This new partnership is a translation of our objectives aimed at improving the level of services provided to the public.” Silah Gulf which is a joint venture between the eGovernment Authority and Merchant, the third largest call center worldwide, which is owned by NTT.

قضية"، وقد مت جمع ما يزيد على ٢٠ ألف دينار بحريني لصالح مكافحة مرض فقر الدم املنجلي وغريها من األمراض الوراثية الفتاكة التي تؤثر على األطفال

يف البحرين.من جانبه قال غازي احلسيني قائد فريق TRA "كانت املنافسة شديدة وقد

)GSR-14( والتي أقيمت يف فندق اخلليج حتت رعاية صاحب السمو امللكي األمري خليفة بن سلمان آل خليفة؛ رئيس وزراء مملكة البحرين، وبحضور صاحب

السمو الشيخ علي بن خليفة آل خليفة؛ نائب رئيس وزراء مملكة البحرين، وباعتبارها الدولة اخلليجية الثانية التي تستضيف هذا احلدث املرموق؛ أثبتت

اململكة مكانتها باعتبارها رائدة يف اجملال اإلعالمي اإلقليمي يف قطاع االتصاالت السلكية والالسلكية.

من جانبها شكلت TRA جلنة توجيهية بقيادة املدير العام السيد حممد بن

حمد بوبشيت، التي حرصت على رفع سقف التوقعات لندوات GSR ووضعت مثاال يحتذى به ملنظمي االتصاالت يف املنطقة؛ عالوة على ذلك؛ خلقت

استضافة GSR-14 فرصة ممتازة لوضع البحرين يف دائرة الضوء كوجهة سياحية رائعة ومركز ثقايف على املستوى اإلقليمي والدويل على حد سواء.

لتمكني ملستهلكني والسماح بازدهار االقتصاد القائم على البيانات سعيا إىل تسهيل إتاحة فوائد العامل الرقمي على نطاق عاملي وبطريقة آمنة ومدروسة. خالل اليومني األولني من GSR-14؛ فتح باب النقاش ملشاركة جميع منظمي

االتصاالت وصناع القرار وأعضاء االحتاد الدويل لالتصاالت، ومت تناول العديد من القضايا الرئيسية مبا يف ذلك متكني املستهلك وحمايته والفرص والتحديات

التنظيمي وتنفيذ جداول أعمال رقمية وأنواع جديدة متقاربة من املنظمني إىل جانب طرق مراقبة خطة "الربودباند".

إىل جانب ذلك؛ متكن حضور الندوة من تبادل وجهات النظر من خالل جلستي النقاش اخملطط لهما، والتي تناولت أوالهما موضوع إعادة حتديد املسؤوليات

التي تعتمد على البيانات يف العامل يف حني تطرقت الثانية إىل خدمات "الربودباند" من حيث تلبية الطلب على القدرة االستيعابية.

وبدعم TRA بقوة لهذه املبادرات احليوية التي تساعد على متهيد الطريق نحو

العمل بصورة تنظيمية أفضل ومتكني املستهلك يف أسواق االتصاالت؛ نالت الهيئة شرف لعب دور فاعل يف ندوة GSR التي تهدف إىل توفري أفضل احللول

وتوضيح إرشادات املمارسة للمنظمني واملشاركني اآلخرين على حد سواء.

ما هي املهام األساسية التي ركزت عليها خالل ادارتك للعمليات اليومية يف هيئة تنظيم االتصاالت

على مدى السنوات الثالث املاضية؟ خالل السنة األوىل كان جل اهتمامي ينصب على

تطوير االسرتاتيجية املركزية وخالل السنوات التالية ركزت جهودي على ضمان التنفيذ املتسق

واملستمر ملبادرات الهيئة مبا يتماشى مع األهداف الرئيسية لالسرتاتيجية املركزية.

برأيك؛ أي من مشاريع الهيئة كان األكرث جناحا؟من الصعب تفضيل مشروع على آخر؛ خاصة أن

معظم املشاريع الرئيسية مرتابطة فضال عن أن العمل يف كل واحد منها كان ميثل متعة وحتديا

كبريين؛ ومع ذلك إن كان بإمكاين تسليط الضوء على مشروع واحد فقط ؛ فعلى األرجح سيكون مشروع

منح تراخيص خدمات االتصاالت املتنقلة للجيل الرابع الذي يعترب جناحا كبريا بالنسبة لنا على الرغم من كل

التحديات.

كيف انعكست إجنازات الهيئة على السوق احمللية واالقليمية؟

تفخر الهيئة بكونها مثال يحتذى به يف تنظيم قطاع االتصاالت يف املنطقة ؛ ففي العقد املاضي كان

لدينا العديد من اإلجنازات التي استفادت منها اململكة. حيث أسهم حترير السوق يف خلق العديد من الفرص وذلك من خالل تأسيس

منافسة صحية يف قطاع االتصاالت؛ ونتيجة لذلك توسعت السوق وازدادت خدمات الهاتف

النقال والربودباند والهاتف الثابت بصورة ملحوظة منذ 2002، ومن األمثلة اخلرى التي جتدر االشارة إليها خدمة نقل االرقام التي منحت حرية كبرية للمستخدمني بالتنقل بني مزودي اخلدمة دون أن يفقدوا أرقام

هواتفهم اخلاصة.

كيف استفادت البحرين من استضافة املنتدى العاملي الرابع عشر ملنظمي

االتصاالت هذا العام؟

باختيارها مضيفا للمنتدى العاملي الرابع عشر ملنظمي االتصاالت متكنا من تعزيز مكانة البحرين

بني نظرياتها من دول العامل بوصفنا جهة تنظيمية معرتف بإجنازاتها يف تنظيم االتصاالت وتكنولوجيا

املعلومات. كما أن املنتدى العاملي الرابع عشر ملنظمي االتصاالت هو حدث معرتف به عامليا،

يجتمع فيه اخملتصون يف قطاع االتصاالت ملناقشة سبل التقدم يف جمال تكنولوجيا. وتطمح

الهيئة إىل انتخابها عضوا يف جملس االحتاد الدويل لالتصاالت، و عليه فإن استضافة هذا احلدث يف

البحرين قد يكون عامال حاسما يف ذلك. وبحصول البحرين على العضوية فإن ذلك سيمنحها موقع

أكرث أهمية للمساهمة يف مستقبل تكنولوجيا املعلومات واالتصاالت باإلضافة إىل االستفادة من

اخلربات والتجارب العاملية .

ما هي األهداف الطويلة األمد يف إطار تطوير هيئة تنظيم االتصاالت؟

الشبكة الوطنية خلدمات النطاق العريض » الربودباند » هي خطوتنا الكبرية القادمة بالنسبة

لألنظمة االيكولوجية لالتصاالت يف البحرين. فالشبكة النحاسية احلالية أنشأت منذ ما يزيد على أربعني

عاما مضت، ومع التقدم املتزايد يف تكنولوجيا املعلومات واالتصاالت والبنية التحتية خلدمات

»الربودباند«؛ فإن اخلطوة الطبيعية التالية بالنسبة إىل البحرين هو إنشاء شبكة انرتنت عالية السرعة

تعتمد على تقنية األلياف البصرية؛ خاصة أن الدراسات تشري إىل وجود عالقة مباشرة بني سرعة »الربودباند« ومنو الناجت احمللي اإلجمايل، لذلك نحن

حريصون على جني ثمار هذه التقنية.

ما هو اجلزء األكرث متعه يف وظيفتك؟الناس هم أهم عناصر القوة يف جمال عملي؛

وبالتايل فإن هديف األساسي يصب يف تطوير القيادات يف الهيئة؛ فالرعاية احلقيقية لهم هي

أولوية رئيسية بالنسبة يل وجلميع املدراء يف الهيئة. كذلك فإنني أسعى جاهدا إىل ضمان

استمرارنا يف تطوير ثقافة التميز الذي يعزز االبتكار والنمو على جميع املستويات.

”SAFE SURF“ حملة تزور المدارس

"SAFE SURF" كجزء من حملتها اإلعالمية قامت TRA بزيارة عدد من املدارس من

املراحل اخملتلفة يف البحرين، وقدمت حماضرات حول خماطر االنرتنت التي يواجهها

الطالب واستعرضت احللول البسيطة لتلك اخملاطر ونظمت الستاذة فاطمة احملميد و االستاذة مرمي املناعي أخصائية السالمة يف

TRA حلقات نقاشية وعرضتا أفالما قصرية توضح الطريقة الصحيحة واآلمنة الستخدام

االنرتنت.

ورشة بروتوكول وآداب العمل شارك موظفو TRA يف ورشة عمل ملدة يومني حول "الربوتوكول وآداب العمل" يف مارس املاضي،

والتي قدمتها الستاذة منى الزايد، مستشارة التدريب املعتمدة من شركة ماكاي للحلول والتي تتخذ من اململكة املتحدة مقرا لها.

خالل الورشة؛ اطلع احلضور على خمتلف املواضيع املتعلقة بربتوكول األعمال مبا يف ذلك طرق التواصل واجملاملة والبساطة املناسبة وإدارة الضغوط واالستخدام الفعال لبطاقة األعمال وقد أشادت االستاذة

الزايد بتفاعل املوظفني االيجابي خالل الورشة.


الجوائز والشهادات التقديرية

جائزة تقديرية في قطاع االتصاالت باتت TRA أول جهة تنظيمية تشارك يف امللتقى السنوي إلدارة جتربة العمالء يف قطاع االتصاالت ملنطقة الشرق األوسط التي عقدت يوم 31 آذار/مارس 2014 يف مدينة دبي، والذي يهدف إىل تزويد

املشاركني باألدوات العملية والتجارب الفعلية للجهات املشاركة فيما يتعلق باسرتاتيجيات إدارة جتربة العمالء وكيفية تطوير تلك االسرتاتيجيات.

وقد تلقت TRA جائزة التقدير يف إدارة جتربة العمالء يف قطاع االتصاالت نظري مبادراتها وإجنازاتها فيما يتعلق بتطوير وحتسني جتربة املستهلك يف قطاع االتصاالت؛ وقد أشادت شركات االتصاالت التي حضرت

من جميع أنحاء العامل باجلهود االستثنائية واحلثيثة التي تقدمها الهيئة.

جائزة أفضل جهة تنظيمية للعام للمرة الرابعة على التوايل؛ فازت هيئة تنظيم االتصاالت مبملكة البحرين بجائزة أفضل جهة تنظيمية لعام

2013 يف منطقة الشرق األوسط وأفريقيا وذلك خالل حفل توزيع جوائز CommsMEA السنوي

يف نسخته الثامنة الذي عقد يف مدينة دبي بتاريخ 4 ديسمرب 2013.

ويأتي هذا التقدير اعرتافا مبا حققته الهيئة من اجنازات جعلت مملكة البحرين بيئة جاذبة

لالستثمار يف قطاع االتصاالت، وسط منافسة حامية مع أبرز املنافسني يف املنطقة مثل

هيئة تنظيم االتصاالت يف اململكة العربية السعودية واإلمارات العربية املتحدة، واجمللس األعلى لالتصاالت وتكنولوجيا املعلومات يف قطر.

TRA تكريم مدير عامفي حفل جوائز تميز

الشخصيات التنفيذية نال السيد حممد بن حمد بوبشيت - مدير

عام هيئة تنظيم االتصاالت جائزة الشرق األوسط احلادية عشرة لتميز الشخصيات التنفيذية يف حفل توزيع اجلوائز الذي أقيم

من قبل معهد جائزة الشرق األوسط للتميز )MEEAI( يف دبي.

وتكرم اجلائزة القادة وصناع القرار والتنفيذيني واملؤسسات التي استطاعت

إحداث تغيري واملساهمة يف تطوير املعايري احلديثة حلوكمة الشركات؛ اجلدير بالذكر

أن معهد جائزة الشرق األوسط للتميز قام على مدى 20 عاما بالبحوث والدراسات امليدانية يف أروقة املؤسسات احلكومية واخلاصة معتمدا على علم اإلدارة احلديث واالقتصاد املعريف وذلك من أجل الرتكيز

على أفضل االجنازات يف خمتلف اجملاالت التكنولوجية واالقتصادية، املالية، اإلنسانية

واالجتماعية، الفكرية القيادية واإلبداعية.

االنــجــازات

TRA تدشن موقعها االلكتروني الجديد

دشنت هيئة تنظيم االتصاالت موقعها اإللكرتوين اجلديد )www.tra.org.bh( بعد إعادة

تصميمه ليسهل استخدامه وذلك يف مارس املاضي وهو اآلن يعمل بكامل طاقته؛ وقد كان

جتديد املوقع خطوة ضرورية للهيئة من أجل متكني األطراف ذوي املصلحة واملشغلني والعموم من الوصول إليها

والتواصل معها بشكل أكرب، وهو ما يتماشى مع أهدافها وجهودها املتواصلة يف بناء حوار

ناجح. ويتميز املوقع اإللكرتوين التفاعلي اجلديد بالبحث

التفصيلي الفريد الذي يحسن من نتائج البحث بصورة ملحوظة إىل جانب املرشحات املتطورة

التي تهدف إىل مساعدة املستخدمني على احلصول على الوثائق بكل سهولة؛ ولذلك

يعد املوقع االلكرتوين اجلديد واحدا من عناصر الهيئة االسرتاتيجية يف التواصل الشفاف مع

اجملتمع.

حملة “SAFE SURF” للترويج لسالمة األطفال "SAFE SURF" حملة إعالمية واسعة النطاق بعنوان )TRA( أطلقت هيئة تنظيم االتصاالت يف البحرين

)انرتنت آمن( يف 29 سبتمرب 2013؛ بهدف جعل االنرتنت أكرث أمانا لألطفال والشباب من خالل نشر الوعي بني أولياء األمور وغريهم من املعنيني بالرتبية والتنشئة حول الفوائد واخملاطر احملتملة املرتبطة

باستخدام االنرتنت.وتتماشى فكرة إقامة هذه احلملة مع الدراسات التي جترى بصورة مستمرة حول السالمة على اإلنرتنت

ومع تقرير TRA "مراجعة الوضع يف البحرين بالنسبة للسالمة على االنرتنت" الذي أوضح انخفاض مستوى الوعي العام بالسالمة على االنرتنت يف البحرين.

ويقدم املوقع اإللكرتوين اخلاص باحلملة )www.safesurf.bh( النصائح واإلرشادات باإلضافة إىل منتدى مفتوح يتيح للمستخدمني تبادل خرباتهم الشخصية فيما يتعلق بهذا املوضوع والتفاعل مع الهيئة.

EFQM تنال شهادة التميز من TRA )EFQM( منحت املؤسسة األوروبية إلدارة اجلودة

هيئة تنظيم االتصاالت مبملكة البحرين شهادة EFQM للتميز يف أبريل املاضي، وذلك بعد اجتياز

الهيئة لتقييم املؤسسة بنجاح.وبعد أن أصبحت أول هيئة تنال هذا التقدير املرموق

يف البحرين؛ تؤكد TRA التزامها التام بالتميز واالرتقاء؛ يف حني تعزو اإلدارة هذا االجناز الرائع إىل

اجلهود املشرتكة وتفاين كوادر TRA املميزة.


يسرين أن أرحب بكم جميعا يف الطبعة األوىل من نشرتنا اإلخبارية الدورية.

يف الواقع؛ كان الربع املاضي من العام مثمرا ومثريا لالهتمام بالنسبة إىل أسرة هيئة تنظيم االتصاالت.

وأنا فخور بشكل خاص للجهود اجلماعية التي قمنا بها لتحدي أنفسنا باستمرار وحتسني مستوى الكفاءات لدينا، والتي مت تقديرها مؤخرا يف اكرب احملافل الدولية؛ ففي أبريل املاضي

منحت هيئة تنظيم االتصاالت )TRA( شهادة التميز من املؤسسة األوروبية إلدارة اجلودة )EFQM( لتصبح أول هيئة يف البحرين تنال هذا التقدير املرموق )صفحة 4(. وأنا اعتقد أن هذه الشهادة التي جاءت لتقدير خدمات الهيئة العالية اجلودة وإطارها التنظيمي، ستكون

دافعا لنا لتكثيف جهودنا واالستمرار يف حتقيق املزيد من االجنازات ضمن مسريتنا املتواصلة نحو النجاح.

كما أود أن أتطرق هنا إىل املنتدى العاملي الرابع عشر ملنظمي االتصاالت )GSR( والذي عقد مؤخرا يف فندق اخلليج )صفحة 9( ولهذا احلدث السنوي أهمية دولية كربى واستضافته يف

مملكة البحرين يعترب قفزة عمالقة يف مكانة اململكة على الصعيد اإلقليمي والدويل على حد سواء.

لقد حققنا خالل األشهر الثالثة املاضية أفضل ما لدينا يف خمتلف املشاريع االبداعية وبرامج تدريب املوظفني املتخصصة )صفحة 6(، وكلي ثقة بقدرتنا على االستمرار بهذه الوترية من

أجل احملافظة على مكانة الهيئة بصفتها مثال يحتذى به ضمن هيئات تنظيم االتصاالت.
