a meaningful christmasWhile the festive season is often a busy time of year, it doesn’t need to bring
about unwanted stress. Spend a little time now reflecting and setting your
intentions for the holidays so that you’re able to be present with loved ones and
enjoy a meaningful Christmas. Stop for a moment and put pen to paper below
to answer the following questions.

my goalsBy setting some goals for the months ahead, you’re able to focus on the things
that really matter to you. Choose goals that are in line with your values and
that will inspire you to live a life you love.
A goal might be to get the whole family together for a special celebration or
to maintain your exercise routine throughout the season. It might be sending
handwritten cards to each person who’s had an impact on your life this year
or decluttering your home to start the new year afresh. Whatever it is, choose
three goals you’d like to achieve this festive season. Consider these goals when
planning using the following pages. Break them down into tasks to add to your
to do list and schedule time to work towards them in the monthly planners.

start earlyThe key to an organised Christmas is to give yourself plenty of time. Before your
schedule starts to fill up, begin to tick off smaller tasks in the months leading
up, so that when December arrives, you feel calm, confident and happy.
Below are some tips and ideas to help you get started.
P L A N N I N G A H E A D
• Set your budget (and stick to it).
• Take a moment to reflect on last year’s Christmas. Ask yourself: What
did you love? What would you do differently? What did you want to do
last year but didn’t get to? Consider your answers when planning.
• Create a vision board of Christmas inspiration. Fill it with images of gift
wrapping, decorations, colour palettes, recipe ideas, beautiful quotes
and more.
• Jot down the names of people to send cards to and buy or make gifts for.
• If you’re travelling during the season, or have loved ones staying with you,
confirm any final details.
• Start to declutter your home so you can enjoy the holiday months and
start the new year afresh. Work your way through each category of
belongings, then donate anything in good condition to charities or second-
hand stores.

you take in November to get closer to achieving them?
• Make a list of anything in your home that needs fixing or replacing – light
bulbs, broken furniture and even Christmas decorations. Then, make a
plan to fix or replace them.
• Revisit your budget – are you on track or set to overspend? If you’ve spent
a little too much, take a moment to consider where you could save
going forward.
• RSVP to events and schedule these into your planners and diary.
If you’re hosting an event, send your invitations so guests have ample time
to RSVP.

Start writing Christmas cards
christmas cardsWe believe in the beauty of a handwritten card. There’s nothing quite like
receiving mail, noticing a handwritten envelope and opening it up to read
someone’s thoughtful words. Christmas is the perfect time to put pen to paper
and express your gratitude to loved ones.
P L A N N I N G A H E A D
• Write your Christmas card list and ensure you have all the
addresses needed.
• Purchase or make Christmas cards, always with a few extra, just in case.
• Divide your Christmas card list into four groups, then schedule an hour or
so each week in November to write your cards or, alternatively, write one
or two each night.
• Avoid queues at the post office – prepurchase your stamps and
post your letters at your local post box in early December to
ensure they arrive in time.
• Record international and interstate postage deadlines in your diary
to remind yourself to send cards and gifts before these dates. Always
remember: Post them sooner rather than later – the closer to Christmas it is,
the longer it takes for cards and gifts to arrive.

how to write a meaningful
christmas cardFor some, writing a meaningful card can be difficult. We’ve put together
some tips to help you reflect and express your gratitude.
T I P S T O G E T YO U S TA R T E D
• Start by celebrating the season and wishing your recipients a
‘Merry Christmas’.
• Reflect on the year just passed – how has this person made your year
wonderful? How have they inspired you? How have they helped you
or supported you? Ask yourself these questions when writing your
card. Let the recipient know the wonderful impact they’ve made on
your year.
• Thank them – whether for something specific or simply for being a part of
your life.
• Give yourself time to write each card and make it personal. Instead
of simply wishing someone a happy new year, what do you hope the
new year will bring them? What dreams do you hope they’ll achieve?
What feelings would you like them to feel?
• Sign off and enjoy knowing that they’ll love opening your card
and reading your beautiful words.

Gather inspiration for gift wrapping

gifting checklistA thoughtful gift deserves thoughtful gift wrapping. Purchase your gift wrapping
needs early to avoid missing out and create a wrapping station at home to
keep all your Christmas wrapping in one spot.
A little greenery, paper garland or ornament added to your gifts can turn
your wrapping into something truly special. Consider personalising your gift
wrapping with print-on-demand services – you can add your own messaging
and photos! Get creative and find gift wrapping inspiration on our blog at
kikki-k.com/blog. Then, use the following pages to jot down gift ideas for each
recipient and tick each one off using the Final Gift List in the following pages.
P L A N N I N G A H E A D
• Set up a gift wrapping station at home and keep all your gift wrapping
needs organised in style.
• Purchase wrapping paper, ribbon or twine, sticky tape and any decorative
extras such as gift tags, stickers or mini pegs in November.
• Consider gift bags or goodie bags for homemade gifts and simple, last
minute options.
• Purchase any packaging, boxes or envelopes needed for sending gifts
overseas or interstate.
• Consider homemade gifts for loved ones. Not only are they cost effective
but they’re meaningful too. Fill a goodie bag with a DIY creation or
delicious baked treats.

be present on the day and feel calm and confident.
P L A N N I N G A H E A D
• Check whether any guests have any allergies or dietary requirements to
cater for.
• Divide your recipes into three categories: food that can be prepared and
frozen/stored, food that can be prepared the day before and food that
must be prepared on the day. Then, plan accordingly.
• Delegate ingredients or dishes to family members. Ask them to bring their
food prepared so that you can avoid having too many people in
the kitchen.
• Enjoy the day! Don’t plan a Christmas menu that will leave you stressed
out while you cook all day. Choose a variety of options that can be made
in advance with just a little cooking needed on the day. Let yourself enjoy
the company of loved ones.
• If you’re making sweet treats or baked goods for your Christmas menu,
consider making extra and adding these to small goodie bags for guests
to take home.
• Keep delicious snacks or festive options on hand for when guests drop by
unexpectedly.

starting a gratitude journal and write down three
things you’re grateful for each day.
You can even involve loved ones by turning
it into a nightly habit – ask each family
member to share something they’re
grateful for and inspire joy and
happiness in each other.
what are you grateful for?Make a list of everything you’re grateful for – big and little. Let it inspire you
to enjoy the journey, celebrate the little things, and find happiness and joy
throughout the season.
when you arise
in the morning, think of
what a precious privilege it
is to be alive, to breathe,
to think, to enjoy, to love.

thanks to the people who made your Christmas special, continue decluttering
your home and creating an inspiring space, take up a new hobby or creative
project and, most importantly, do what you love.
Think about what you’d like to achieve this month. How would you like to
start the year? What new habits would you like to develop? Write your to do
list and use the monthly planner to organise your time. Find somewhere quiet
where you won’t be interrupted to work through the reflection and dreaming
questions. Then, schedule time to work towards your goals and enjoy living a
life you love.
