Warranty Coverage

Generator sets and accessories are warranted for a period of five (5) years or two thousand (2000)

hours, whichever occurs first, from the date of purchase by the original end user. For demonstration

boats, coverage commences at fifty (50) hours or date of purchase by the first retail purchaser,

whichever occurs first. Parts, labor, including diagnostic labor, limited travel, and removal and

reinstallation are covered for the first and second years or two thousand (2000) hours, whichever

occurs first, on warrantable repairs. Parts, labor, including diagnostic labor, limited travel, and

removal and reinstallation are covered on selected components for the remaining years or two

thousand (2000) hours, whichever occurs first, on warrantable repairs. Warranty is transferable to

subsequent buyers of the vessel in which the generator set was originally installed.

Selected components covered after the two (2) years and up to five (5) years or two thousand

(2000) hours, whichever occurs first are: cylinder block, cylinder heads, crankshaft, camshaft,

balance shafts, piston, rings, valves, valve lifters, manifolds, major castings, main stator, main

rotor, excitation stator, and excitation rotor.

Marine Limited Warranty (32 kW and Below)Your Kohler product has been manufactured and inspected with care by experienced craftsmen. If you are the end user, Kohler Co.

warrants, for the period indicated below, each product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship. Repair, replacement,

or appropriate adjustment at Kohler Co.’s option will be furnished if the product, upon Kohler Co.’s inspection, is found to be properly

installed,maintained, and operated in accordancewithKohlerCo.’s instructionmanuals. This warranty does not apply tomalfunctions

caused by damage, unreasonable use, misuse, repair or service by unauthorized persons, or normal wear and tear.

The following will not be covered by the warranty:

1. Normal engine/generator wear.

2. Routine tuneups, tuneup ignition components, belts,hoses, clamps, filters, exhaust system components,gaskets, seawater impellers, and/or seals.

3. Damage caused by accidents, improper installation orhandling, and/or improper storage.

4. Damage caused by water ingestion.

5. Damage caused by faulty repairs performed by a repairfacility that is not an authorized Kohler servicerepresentative.

6. Damage caused by operation with improper fuel or atspeeds, loads, conditions, modification, or installationcontrary to published specifications or recommendations.

7. Original installation charges and startup costs.

8. Starting batteries and the following related expenses:

a. Labor charges related to battery service.

b. Travel expense related to battery service.

9. Rental of equipment during performance of warrantyrepairs.

10. Generator repairs made within the warranty period otherthan by an authorized Kohler service dealer without priorapproval from the Kohler Co. Warranty Department.

11. Damage caused by negligent maintenance such as:

a. Failure to provide the specified type and sufficientquantity of lubricating oil, cooling air, and/or coolant.

b. Failure to provide adequate air intake and/ormaintenance of the air intake system.

c. Failure to perform scheduled maintenance asprescribed in supplied manuals.

12. Engine fluids such as fuel, oil, or coolant/antifreeze.

13. Shop supplies such as adhesives, cleaning solvents, andrags.

14. Use of other-than-factory-supplied or -approved repairparts and/or procedures. Replacement of a failed Kohlerpart with a non-Kohler part voids Kohler warranty on thispart or failures caused by this part.

15. Fuel injection pumps not repaired locally by an authorizedservicing dealer.

16. Expenses incurred investigating performance complaintsunless the problem is caused by defective Kohlermaterialsor workmanship.

KOHLER CO. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KINDincluding, but not limited to, incidental or consequential labor costs, installation charges, telephone charges, ortransportation charges in connection with the replacement or repair of defective parts.

This is our exclusive written warranty. We make no other express warranty, nor is anyone authorized to make any on our behalf.

ANY IMPLIED OR STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS OFPURPOSE, is expressly limited to the duration of this warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an impliedwarranty lastsor theexclusionor limitationof incidentalorconsequential damages,so theabove limitationor exclusionmaynot apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
